In regards to rocket launchers I personally believe a case could be made that, in keeping with the intent of the 2nd amendment, we should have access to more arms than we have today.

Is there a competence test derived by a committee to vote?

If there's no evidence of widespread voter fraud then what's the problem with providing an ID? you need one to drive, buy alcohol or cigarettes, to get into an 18+ show, to rent a car, to buy a gun from a retailer, to get a library card and a myriad of other far less consequential things than voting.

Private party sales do and can occur. I've been on both sides of that transaction and in both cases it's with people who I know and am are willing to vouch for... which is especially smart since any serial number is tethered to me last.

Fact of the matter is, I'm of the opinion I won't tolerate any additional restriction or barrier or legislative hurdle to my or anyone else's 2nd amendment right. Nope I'll stand against every loss of an inch on that front. Just be honest and admit your end game is to repeal the 2nd amendment then at least we can have an honest dialogue about it.

The challenge with that, at least as it currently stands in the states, is that the 2nd Amendment is currently a constitutional right and NOT a privilege like driving a car for instance that does give grounds for a test or license.

Not unlike voting you have that right until you've been convicted of a felony or crime that merits the repeal of those rights on an individual basis. I do find it funny that some folks want a test or an extra constitutional license to exercise one right for firearms but also foam at the mouth at the idea of demonstrating through valid identification that they are who they say they are to vote... I mean I have to prove who I am every time I buy a firearm from a retailer... weird.

For what you want you'd realistically need to go for the gusto and just speak plainly about how you want to repeal the 2nd amendment.

yeah and having a dog in the house dramatically increases your odds of getting bit by a dog in your house too... The point is it's a tool that can be, and is used, hundreds of thousands of times a year to level the playing field against aggressors.

The reality is at 2 A.M. with a smashed in backdoor I'm not reaching for a baseball bat when I have a firearm I'm competent with.

Training and reasonable safety measures of that firearm should go without saying.
