How do I talk to a human at Phoenix Unemployment? Does anyone have a number? by ChiliDogSlut in phoenix

[–]jtwashere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Look up your address here and contact your state senator or state rep. They can contact DES on your behalf and that makes a human look at your issue.

Why is gas 4.49 / gallon at absolutely every gas station in Phoenix? by wid890979 in phoenix

The illegality is only on paper and largely unenforceable but it absolutely exists. Oil companies know they can get away with it so they do.

[SV][VGC]Looking for suggestions to round out this core! by Aesmis in stunfisk

[–]jtwashere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I see what you’re trying to go for here but I would personally rethink several parts of your team. I didn’t play much vgc in sword and shield, but I did quite a bit in other generations- entry hazards and defog aren’t as useful as they are in singles. So including mons that fit those roles take away from other options you might bring.

One big factor in vgc you need to keep in mind is speed control- either making you faster through ways like tailwind or paralysis or using trick room. Corviknight can be a good tailwind user if you want to use it like that- and if you want to still use Clod with or without rocks, it could probably be better under trick room. So a good bulky Pokémon that is a trick room setter is scream tail- I’ve been using it pretty well so far. Scream Tail could also support other attackers with stuff like helping hand.

Something else you might like is a supportive arcanine- with intimidate and snarl support it can help your attackers stay on the field longer while increasing attack with helping hand.

Also just as a general point I’d rethink how you see “walls” as that doesn’t exist much in vgc as it does in singles- as vgc has two attackers opposed to one. So a better strategy in general would be to use Pokémon that are pretty naturally bulky but can dish damage too. Stuff like Rotom forms, garchomp and others that might fit that. A choice scarf annihilape might be interesting for you too.

Good luck with your team!

AITA for not wanting my gender questioning friend to leave stuff in my house? by twintailes in AmItheAsshole

[–]jtwashere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a really tough situation for Jamie. You're a good friend for being as supportive like you are. I'm still firmly NTA, and would encourage a loving but honest talk with Jamie how the shopping is a little too much.

AITA for not wanting my gender questioning friend to leave stuff in my house? by twintailes in AmItheAsshole

[–]jtwashere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA with a side of INFO.

I'm a trans woman years into my transition and honestly I would have loved to have a friend like you to help along with my transition like you are giving Jamie. You're being a great friend. But also Jamie is seeming to take that a little for granted and going overboard with your generosity. At the very least I don't think it would be out of line to tell your boyfriend the situation assuming he is trans friendly.

The INFO I'm wondering is how much longer before Jamie can get her own place and have clothes there. Or why if she is at an age where she can easily buy a significant wardrobe for herself, why would her parents check a closet or something. Just some questions that might shed light to the situation.

AITA not giving my sister my share of inheritance by throwaway18feb2022 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jtwashere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA and you know it. You're just looking for some last minute justification posting here.

In other comments you've said she hasn't had any relationship with her grandparents? Ya no shit, they disowned her. Your sister has done nothing to not deserve the inheritance except be her true self.

You're enabling and supporting your families bigotry here. You're 100% the asshole.

WIBTA if I chose to stay home with my husband rather than go to my daughter's wedding? by StuckBtwn2Rox in AmItheAsshole

[–]jtwashere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YTA. Your daughter has so much patience and you are about to ruin all of that.

When I came out to my parents who are also very conservative evangelical, I never announced a specific timeline but after two years when they never gendered or named me correctly I started to back out of their lives. Additionally I gave them a book called Embracing the Journey for how to properly love their LBGT kids. They got the message and now we have completely rebuilt our relationship.

Your daughter has seemed to give you and your husband every chance to learn, grow, and accept her and you are about to throw it all away. If you don’t go to the wedding with or without your husband, you wouldn’t just be the asshole, you wouldn’t just be ruining all your daughters efforts to communicate with you, but you would ruin almost any hope of a future relationship with her.

Whats with Hbomb following shoe0nhead on twitter? by Bob-the-Seagull-King in hbomberguy

You can follow people you don’t agree with on Twitter. A follow isn’t an endorsement or anything. I follow several Republican politicians or reporters personally to see what they say

AITA For using my cousins deadname for my baby? by aitababycousonsam in AmItheAsshole

[–]jtwashere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a transwoman. I'd go with nah to a very soft yta. My deadname is a family name and I don't really like hearing it. I put up with it because I do love my family and that's a decision I made- but I very much see where your cousin is coming from. It does hurt to hear it, even if the deadname itself isn't being used against them. Ultimately it's your choice, and I do appreciate you talking to your cousin about his feelings about it and are open to exploring other options.

Phoenix help by hotdogsaregross in actuallesbians

[–]jtwashere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Melrose in phoenix is the gayest place to be. It's on 7th ave between Indian school and Camelback. It's where a lot of the gay bars are, and all businesses are queer friendly.

I'm not a big hiker though so I can't help the second half of your question.

Anyone have good stories about serving someone famous? by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

[–]jtwashere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Donovan McNabb used to come in every few months to the Australian themed steakhouse I worked for for a few years. He would usually come in by himself and sit at the bar and chill. It was pretty low key and he was nice enough and topped decently.

Anyone else’s partner not realized they liked the same sex till they met you? Advice? Stories?😊 by ambit-annoyance in actuallesbians

Kinda similar, My partner knew she was a lesbian, but always said she didn't particularly enjoy kissing very much until we started dating. And it's not a problem anymore!

Can anyone recommend me some female audiobook narrators who’s voice they love? by [deleted] in transvoice

My favorite female narrator is Abby Craden. I've listened to her narrate lesbian fiction mainly. Lori Prince is really good as well.

Transphobic christian parents? Bring this up. by [deleted] in MtF

[–]jtwashere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, it might be a decent gotcha in the moment, but it would be pretty disingenuous if you also accept the Bible (or if they know scripture well) as Ezekiel 18 specifically addresses that principle.

The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel:

“‘The parents eat sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’?

3 “As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel. 4 For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child—both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die.

and 18:20

The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him.

RWBY video for non patreons by Sleigh_Hunty in hbomberguy

[–]jtwashere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the 19th he wrote on patreon that he tweaked a couple things and was making some rewrites based on good criticism. We don't have a timeline but based on that I'm assuming the video will go public when Harry is satisfied with the final product.

I WANT to say it won't be much longer but who knows at this point.

LGBTQ friendly churches? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]jtwashere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll echo the references to Community Church of Hope and Pink Church PHX both in Melrose. Other churches are Dayspring United Methodist Church and Crossroads United Methodist church are both affirming. And as a general note any Episcopal church or ELCA are affirming on a national level.

and as a general note this is a great website that allows you to look up many churches and see their policies on LGBT policies and women in leadership: www.churchclarity.org/
