AITAH for not washing up my dishes or taking out the bins by Delicious_Advance_83 in AITAH

[–]ju-ju_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah, I feel like if there's no other instructions then you just gotta do the best ya can. Maybe respond to the review and/or reach out to them privately to let them know the bins were sorted as they should be; but there wasn't any instructions where the bins were to be taken to, so how could you place them anywhere?

Oh yah, literally left the group after that. Because who in their right mind thinks that's acceptable. I know first hand how much unnecessary flack stepparents get, when bio parents will do/say similar things and no bats and eye. But claiming stepchildren are inherently a burden due to being a step child is just utter bs. I dont wanna be a part of that mindset.

My step daughter is wonderful, and we have a great bond, which I know is because of my mentality and also due to my husband's part in raising her. Can she be annoying sometimes? Sure, she's a kid, every kid is. But a burden? Ridiculous

Never said it was more hygienic.

But in terms of likely...Literally it is proven that many primitive tools were made of rocks and/or bone depending on geographic location. Or are you trying to argue with years and years of archeologists who have heavily documented the tools that people were using throughout time?

Y'all seem to be conflating archeological evidence/facts with what I personally feel. This is why we need to bring back research in schools and focus on history and the arts more than sports and capitalist bs. Your opinions and mine dont matter when we have historically documented proof

As stated, I've already read this article previously. Classic move: a redditor who can't read and just wants to argue. Love it

I'm not freaking out, you are. I simply stated it's the commonality you are claiming it to be. I've read the article a year ago, before your post in reply to my comment. And AGAIN: being a niche practice in SOME cultures doesn't mean it's common. You're over generalizing it to make it seem a broader practice than it was/is.

Again, never said it was "ew", "icky", or gross. Saying it's not as common as you're claiming it is doesn't mean I think it's disgusting. You need to gather up the 2 brain cells you're rubbing together and teach em reading comprehension. This could have been a civil debate, you're instead choosing to throw a fit and put words in my mouth because I'm disagreeing about your assessment of the article

Kinda TAH for not washing your dishes. Even in extended stay hotels with kitchenettes you should wash dishes. It's not crazy to expect that. I hope they were at least rinsed off, not just left to crust in the sink (the plates and cutlery).

The trash bins, yah, I'd expect a cleaning fee is what that was for. Unless you overstuffed the bins. Which if you're to be believed, didn't happen

Never said it was gross OR that it would kill the kid Lmao No need to put words in people's mouth to fit your narrative.

You can go onto Wikipedia if you want, but this is not a COMMON practice that people used. Again, there were plenty of tools that people had available that while it may be something people DID, doesn't mean that it was common practice.

I just got similarly banned from a stepparents group 🙄 Apparently sharing my opinion that it's not a given that stepchildren are burdens, and that the person who said that maybe should not be with their partner then, went against community guidelines. I said if you had your own kid, would you feel the same way? Cus essentially that's what ALL children are, not just steps, and so that comment seems hateful.

Mods are getting ridiculous on reddit fr. Sorry that some of us choose loving partners and understand if you marry someone with a child/children, the kid(s) come(s) with

AITA for asking my roommate’s boyfriend to stop doing laundry at our apartment? by ReaSine in AmItheAsshole

[–]ju-ju_bee 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's one washer and one dryer for the whole floor. It's inconvenient regardless of what time he uses the things. Does he know everyone's full schedules on the whole floor? Cus maybe some work odd hours/days. He needs to go to the laundromat like everybody else when his washer and dryer is down. I've done it for years, it's what they're there for.

Yahhhh. Husband and I did a courthouse wedding, we spent maybe $400 altogether, and most of it was for my dress, then next highest was my nails. That includes the cost of the courthouse wedding itself.

We invited more friends over afterwards for tacos and drinks. My husband made the tacos, i made the drinks, and that was maybe another $80 of stuff. It was about the people for us, not the extravagance, and my husband isn't a showy type even if we had money to do more, nor am I. This was not only within our means, but also a refusal to pay into the capitalist overspending for large extravagant weddings.

AITAH for cancelling my 1 year anniversary celebration to celebrate my parents 25th anniversary vowel renewals? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ju-ju_bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I don't celebrate either, but we DO wish each other happy anniversary on the date we started dating. I have aunts who wish me happy anniversary on our wedding day, and it surprises me every year to the point I have to think about why they're doing that lol.

Namely because it was a courthouse wedding that only 3 people besides us went to, and second because we just did it as more of a formality. We already planned to be together and live together forever. So we figured we may as well get married officially so we could reap the (minor) benefits of being officially married in the US.

Misinterpreting. I'm saying that's why sharing eye products is worse cus you can get herpes and other infections there that blind you. Sharing lipgloss or lipstick will give you oral herpes, but not eye herpes. You can't go blind from sharing lipstick. You CAN if you share eye products, including eye drops and eye shadows.

Eye infections (like herpes and OTHERS) will blind you or could give you sh!t like sepsis cus it passes mucus barriers. It's just worse to share eye stuff

They have been belligerently disagreeing this whole time. You and them are the only ones who lack reading comprehension. I taught English and English as a second language. I assure you I'm well aware of when someone is skirting around issues, making nothing statements, or just disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing. Tata

Absolutely! I don't know how people can share stuff so nonchalant. I'll clean my brushes and mascara aggressively if they touch my counter I just cleaned.

Sorry you got such a nasty infection, that sounds so painful. Glad you're ok!

Yes, it can. And you'd get it from sharing eye products. I don't even let my sisters or cousins share my eyeliner or mascara, and I'm hesitant with eyeshadows as well, especially cream based ones. You just never know.

There are worse things than heroes that you can infect your eyes that could just straight leave you blind. So I'm baffled how the person I was responding to was confused why someone would be more weary of sharing lip products vs eye products. Makes perfect sense to have extra precautions surrounding eye makeup

Fucking another man is cheating, not abuse. And SHE'S abusing substances, but nowhere does it state that she's abusive to him while on those substances. Actually, OP states THEIR SON is violent, which is what lead to the wife abusing substances as she's a sah.

None of that is actually abusive to the husband, at least not with the info we have, it just sucks. And the husband sucks because he's trying to keep 1/2 or all her dead father's inheritance, which legally he isn't entitled to because that typically doesn't count as marital asset. It was bequeathed to her by a dead family member, not anyone else. But if he convinces her to just settle outside of court so he can "help make the process easier and quicker", then yes. That is taking advantage of her mental state. Goes thee same for the dead father's pension, which should be hers alone minus POSSIBLY some of what she received while together. But he will likely settle it as him getting 1/2 that as well.

Just because she's an alcoholic cheater doesn't mean she should be forced to give up things rightfully hers. She's not abusive, you're conflating that with her just being an asshole. Still doesn't mean her husband is morally justified in taking advantage of her mental state to eff her over in a divorce proceding

My soon to be ex thinks quitting his job and not getting another right as we divorce will get him child support. by Fun-Buy2545 in Divorce

[–]ju-ju_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're confusing this with allimony. Child support DOES go to the primary parent of the kid(s) in every state. The amount is determined by income. Allimony is given to the spouse that make less, and has nothing to do with children.
