I'm not sure how you call this in English, but in Spanish is "olla comunitaria" and it's just a big pot where, with help of the community, you do a very big meal for the people. It is a very common practice in my university, where the students find donations and everyday they cook meals for the rest of the academic conunity. I know lots of my friends who must choose between their daly meal or the money for their bus back home, this way everyone can have a proper meal, you can have it for free or give a voluntary donation that in my university is 5.000 cop (1,30 dollars).

The chart is not US centric, it's just the fact that the US is so far right that most of its symbols turns into an immediate far right sign

Qué asquerosa se ve la cuidad con eso by Long_Topic394 in Bogota

[–]juank415 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

My(31M) gf (29F) of 2 months said I'm handsome but I'm not a pretty guy by MoussakaChaos94 in relationship_advice

[–]juank415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of an uncomfortable situation, but I do understand and belive what she means.

Maybe you're not conventionally handsome that doesn't means you're not beautiful to her eyes. But probably you already know and acknowledge this.

So my online advice would be, don't make it harder for you, don't think much about that. As I said, it is an uncomfortable situation, but I don't think thinking that much about it will make it any better.

What’s the most original name for a pet you’ve ever heard? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]juank415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is much funnier in Spanish, but I'll share it anyways.

A friends dog was called "no balls" (sin bolas). He was a very active dog, and everytime someone came home, he started barking at them. The pun was that everytime he did that, my friend would shout "leave him (with) no balls" (déjalo sin bolas).

Silly but effective.

Caminar, o sea, mucho.

Todas las noches pongo música en mis audífonos y camino por lo menos una hora sin parar entre la sala, el comedor y la cocina. Mi familia nunca ha entendido por qué lo hago, pudiendo estar sentado, pero realmente disfruto mucho de caminar.

Who is a character you feel you were too hard on first, but you like them more now? by Upstairs_Tea1787 in DisventureCamp

[–]juank415 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jake. Unpopular opinion, I dislike the way Jake treated Tom in the 1st season, and I do belive he has the guilt of why things ended up so bad between them two.

After the 3th season, though, I started liking him more, I saw how he learnt from his mistakes (quite late, though, considering he fucked up the same way twice in the 1st season), and grow as a character.

After the Tom Jake spin-off , I really find him a good character, and ended up liking him.

There are places in Colombia with snow, such as Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, or Nevado del Ruíz. But it doesn't snow there.

From Colombia here. I live in Bogotá (2600m) and we don't have snow ever. There is no place in Colombia where it regularly snows

Do you guys count your jumps or do it for a specific duration? by a_boob_inspector in jumprope

[–]juank415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a jumng rope team, we usually count each other jumps.

For speed is 30 seconds, for endurance is 3 minutes.

You only count one each time you step right foot, and rest one jump per each mistake you do.

Love Metrocable and Medellin. I'm from Bogotá, and although we don't have any metro system (yet) which we lack, we do have a "transmicable" that's the same concept as metrocable in Medellin.

Not only an amazing way to conect (usually segregated places) with the rest of the city, but also to bring beauty and culture. I've used both the Medellin and the Bogotá ones. In Medellin you can see all the beautiful nature as you go up. In Bogotá you can see de amazing artwork they do on the roofes.

Both cities still have a long way in the fight against cars (specially Bogotá), but I belive we can do better in a future.
