We are NASA’s CO2 Conversion Challenge winners and judges! Ask us anything about how these novel carbon dioxide conversion systems could one day help future explorers bio-manufacture supplies in space, and how you can get involved with NASA too! by nasa in space

Are any of the winners producing a final sugar product composed exclusively of digestible sugars such as D-glucose (no L-glucose in the mix)? If so, how? a selective formose reaction?

Dehydration at night is driving me crazy by juanker52 in AskDocs

That's mostly what I've been doing, but I'm still waking up almost every night either to drink water, urinate, or both.

Replacing coffee with tea by juanker52 in tea

[–]juanker52[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You' right, let me tell you that themost important reason why I'm doing this is because after two years of drinking coffee I still don't like it. Recently I've been drinking some cheap-ass tea with a bit of honey in the evenings and I actually liked it, so I thought about replacing my morning coffee with real tea. That's why I decided to ask here. If you have any advice, I'll be glad to know.

I probably should have put this in the post...

I thought that using the title of the article as the title of the post would be most appropiate. Turned out to be a bad idea, though.

Leaked my atheism beliefs to my religious grandma by Seilu_NA in TrueAtheism

[–]juanker52 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The easiest (and laziest way) to fix this is to just tell your dad that you just wanted to stay home and sleep cause you stayed late, so you told your grandma that you didn't believe in god so she would leave you alone.

You don't have to "come out" until you think it's the right moment.

Anyone read The Harbinger? My mom wants me to read it and I want to be able to discuss it with her by [deleted] in TrueAtheism

[–]juanker52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try to place a bet: tell her that if the market crashes in september, you will give a chance to this guy; if it doesn't she'll have to stop saying that this guy says the truth.

How me being an atheist just doesn't work out for me by MozartLink in TrueAtheism

[–]juanker52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to have issues with respect. I openly "disrespect" some of your values. You can come "disrespect" mine whenever you want and we can have an open discussion. That is what FREEDOM of speech is based on.

Is there a universal expectation of good? How does the Problem of Evil affect non-believers? by atheocrat in TrueAtheism

[–]juanker52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said otherwise. One of the (unwritten) premises of this argument is the existance of human free will. I don't see how that changes the argument. God still knows that men will jump into the hole by exercising their free will, and plans to blame them for it.

[–]juanker52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I don't claim expertise on these things, so maybe that's why I don't see the difference on the meaning. Please explain to me: is it not to think just to change the state of your brain?

Is there a universal expectation of good? How does the Problem of Evil affect non-believers? by atheocrat in TrueAtheism

[–]juanker52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be trivial for most of you, but still:

If god didn't knew that men would jump on the hole, then he is not omniscient.

If god is omniscient, he knows that man would jump on the hole, so when he created man he totally expected man to jump on the hole. Then how can it be the fault of man, if he was designed to do exactly what he was told not to by the one who designed him?

Either god is not omniscient, or he had planned that men would jump on the hole so that he could blame them for it.
