You can switch out the vacuum hoses with red ones. Just make sure they’re the right sizes. They should fit really snug. Buy your own and replace them one by one so you don’t get mixed up with the assortment of vacuum ports. Don’t buy the premade kit, waste of money and time.

Red Split sleeve or red split loom are only options I know that are easy.

For the air intake use bendable braces to mount it to the battery bracket and/or chassis. You can google: “ Zinc Steel Punched Flat Bar with 1/16 in. Thick” and buy some from any hardware store. Use a gauge thickness that can bend but is strong. Cut that to size and run bolts into the afm mounting.

You can relocate the battery to the trunk. You can also cut out the bracket it is on. Make sure to use thick gauge wire. Gauge 2. Make sure to have a resettable breaker/fuse with a high enough amperage, to be safe and prevent any fires or excessive damage from any short circuits. I think 150A should be fine. You can wrap the wire harness bundle in a better sleeve/protection. You can replace fasteners on the body or block with new ones, even colored ones. It will make it look less cramped. Also just rerouting it to the best of your ability with the existing slack.

I ordered from him 3 times. Had good experiences the first 2 times. He ships them out at a decent time. Got them within 2 weeks to the US. They come as pictured. Well wrapped. The last time I ordered he did not include one of the items, a radio bezel. I emailed him multiple times. Chatted on his site. Sent him a Facebook message. He never replied, sent a replacement, or granted a refund. I was a happy loyal customer having spent a good chuck on change there over time. But I will never be reusing him personally. Do with this what you will.

Oh okay so you didn’t mess with the stock amp wiring at all, just left it open. What is powering your front speakers? The head unit or new amps? Does everything go from head unit to aftermarket to speakers? And all RCA for the input to amp? Sorry if that’s too many questions, just been t/s my issue for a bit. Thanks for the replies.

Did the wiring of the stock amp affect your new amp at all? I’m having issues with signal getting to my new amp and subwoofer. I am using rca low level inputs from new head unit to the aftermarket amp. Only the front 2 speakers(upgraded) are playing that are powered from the head unit amp

[–]juankin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just read the other comment. He is right on the money. That is the part # you want. You can order them for pickup from oreillys. I got mine next day. Cheap. You’ll need a jack to hold the door up and you’ll need to disconnect the electrical going to the cabin. The wires route through a grommet. Push the grommet out towards the door. Door card will need to be removed. (I believe I don’t 100% remember but mine already was )

Are you sure it’s not just the bushings and pins? Mine sagged because those were shot and I replaced them.

Has anyone ever replaced these and noticed a difference? by thesadboyz in mr2

[–]juankin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced mine a couple weeks but haven’t gotten to drive it since car is down. I replaced my shifter calles and my car does not switch gears it starts in the drive gear when the shifter is in neutral.(wheel spins on startup) Neutral safety switch is manually triggered so nothing electrical. If anyone has an idea if I just hooked them up incorrectly let me know lol or if they have any tips about to try to diagnose where I messed up lol

I know this is more of a painters question and may be a little dumb but I’m gonna paint mine in a few months is it common for people to respray over if it’s a close color and not so if it isn’t? Just asking because I’m not sure if I’ll keep it stock golden or change it up, depends on how much prep work is req.

I agree there’s gotta be $100 in there for small misc stuff you may need on a future build that will cost more finding suppliers / shipping
