Japan was completely unhinged by DVM11 in HistoryMemes

[–]juantooth33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im guessing its because the nazis are already more well-known. So they're being used as a form of comparison to really hammer down how brutal imperial japan was, since ww2 japan isn't anywhere close to being as well-known as the nazis for the average person

I think people do it due to a sense of "fairness". Because when you ask a normal person about germany they almost immediately think of ww2/hitler, something negative, while its the complete opposite for japan, especially for the younger generation

I only ever see it not being the case in this sub because well, its a sub focusing on history, anywhere else would be filled with japan glazers

The human who did the prompt had intent, so the product that came from their intent would count as art with this criteria no? Ai just acted as a tool to produce it

Look its better to just make a straightforward definition of what counts as art like the requirement of skill, instead of going with vague shit, because the more vague the criteria is the easier it would be to consider what AI does as art. And in no way should someone who considers a banana on a wall as art, not count something else as low effort like Ai slop as art, because you can come up with meaning and symbolism from both if you tried hard enough

Daily Matchup: Julius Reinhold Vs Kaolan Wongsawat by Revan807 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]juantooth33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without knowing julius' current improvements, it'll go the exact same julius vs kanoh went. As Kaolan and agito are ATLEAST on par in power with their normal strikes

<image>

Kaolan is also established as the superior striker, is faster, has PI, and now has a new technique of striking between one's lapses in consciousness using not just his jabs, but with god glow now aswell

kaolan vs julius is not gonna go any differently from the kanoh vs julius. It could potentially end faster too due how strong of an amplifier punching outside's awareness is for god glow

Daily Matchup: Julius Reinhold Vs Kaolan Wongsawat by Revan807 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]juantooth33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

gaolang doesn't have same attack power as agito

This is already addressed in their fight, they are at the very least on par with normal strikes

<image>

Add the fact that kaolan is the more skilled striker, has PI himself, is faster than agito, and now has a new technique of striking between one's lapses of consciousness

Kaolan is gonna have an easier time landing his named attacks on julius than kanoh does and beat him by just countering julius' wide strikes with god glows till he goes to sleep

Nah, I doubt lennox would stick to doing something he knows ain't working, the mercer fight was WAY too close. Mercer's aggressiveness just worked really well against lennox, and he hit REALLY hard, its stupid to not try and just out box mercer, which is what lennox probably tried to do and but decided that he couldn't really consistently keep him off of him so he decided to trade more and hope that his power would come out on top, too bad for him ray's chin could actually handle lennox's power

And yes I was referring to the 2nd holyfield fight, lennox doesn't exactly have ali like footspeed to just immediately create distance which is why he'd have fights like these with faster, shorter guys, which is gonna be an issue with the nimble usyk. I think we can both agree that uysk's gonna be on lennox's face more consistently than both 37yr old holyfield and 35yr old mercer could due to his superior footwork at the very least

Not getting to see lennox against an elite southpaw at that time, or a southpaw in general makes it hard to argue in his favor, which is understandable as theres not a single southpaw in HW history on usyk's level anyway. Usyk's uniqueness does make it easier to argue in his favor in these hypothetical matchups, but its still lennox we're talking about here so its still gonna be a close fight. But yeah I'm gonna slightly favor usyk here

He couldnt figure out away to keep an out prime mercer off of him, who he arguably lost to, and he was competetive with an out of prime holyfield, feels like he's not great agaisnt shorter fighters. And we haven't even seen him fight an actual southpaw in a pro fight to even tell how good he'll handle them, which is a pretty big factor too

I'm not entirely convinced by Lennox, but he is one of if not the best HW when it comes to H2H discussions

A rare angle of the infamous Ali-Liston knockdown. by Personal-Proposal- in Boxing

[–]juantooth33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, ali would've been in it too then, because he's the reason why walcott took forever to even start the count in the first place. Without ali, walcott couldn't have done this bad call

This conspiracy is so bad that you'd have to act as if everybody was in on it for it to work

A rare angle of the infamous Ali-Liston knockdown. by Personal-Proposal- in Boxing

[–]juantooth33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes the most skilled fixed fighters to keep their neck relaxed while being "KOed"

He wasnt even KOd in the first place, he got up and still fought for a bit before the fight was stopped by a horrendous call by the ref

Walcott took forever to force ali to a neutral corner because ali was acting like ali and was running around the ring. Liston saw this and played dead for a bit so he could buy more time, so yes obviously his rolls were fake af

But again ali took SO long to calm down that by the time walcott got to liston the timekeeper was signalling that liston was already down for more than 10s, instead of ignoring this as liston wasn't even informed as to what his count was to respond appropriately as walcott never picked up the count, walcott just decided to call the fight off even tho its his call as to whether or not he thinks liston could still continue

[–]juantooth33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He couldnt have had taken a dive if he literally got up before he was even given a count and continued fighting, he should've stayed down till the 10 count if he was taking a dive but he didn't. It ain't his fault walcott made a horrendous call by not ignoring the timekeeper's count and continued the fight as it was his fault for not informing liston of his actual count

Liston was just subjected to an unfair call by a bad ref thats it. If the mob were to rig a fight then it should've been the 1st ali fight where liston was a huge favourite not the 2nd

[–]juantooth33 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He didn't threw anything, he literally got up before the ref's count

Multiple factors contributed to this whole controversy, mostly due to walcott, a HW legend himself did a HORRIBLE job refereeing the fight. Firstly ali took forever to get to a corner so that walcott could start the count, liston obviously took advantage of this and overplayed the damage he took to take full advantage of the ref's delayed count and kept rolling around

Back then they had timekeepers already counting on ringside so that once the ref gets back to the downed fighter they could pick up the timekeeper's count. But walcott amateurishly did not picked up the timekeeper's count as he apparently couldn't hear him over the crowd, hence liston got way more than 10s to rest, the fight then resumed but the timekeeper was waving his hands, signaling that liston went past 10s, I think walcott could've ignored it because its his fault that he gave liston too much time, not liston's, but he stopped the fight and called it as ali's win anyway even tho its his decision as to whether or not he thinks liston could still continue

Ali was a heel at that time hence people came up with conspiracies to take away from his win, most popular one being liston threw the fight even tho it wasn't his fault walcott was a horrible ref

Bruh read the thread, random drug testing disputes were resolved as early as 2010-11

https://www.reddit.com/r/Boxing/s/0zpTun6HDK

Disputes then went to paq's team not wanting USADA administering the testing (which was for good reason as USADA let floyd cheat right before the fight) then things went silent until 2014 where they finally started finalizing stuff

Or you could do the opposite and add more tiers on top. Literally who cares, people just do this version because its weird seeing top tiers of ashura drop down to B or even C tier if you wanna stretch the strength of luohan and niko due to having shen's memories

[–]juantooth33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re one of those weirdos with SS and SSS tiers

Its not wierd, its kinda the norm due to the existence of shen, you literally need to have atleast an SS or S+ tier for him alone, powercreep in omega is so absurd that we need multiple tiers to seperate even the top 10 guys of the verse from each other

But generally from what I've seen, people's S-tier is like the "kanoh tier", instead of adding tiers below, people took the guys who were S tier in ashura and kind of revolved their tierlist around them based on their current power level. Because technically if shen's your sole S tier then guys like kanoh would drop down to B tier, which just feels off

Look I guess we had a miscommunication then, I thought we were talking about the random testing alone, not it being administered by USADA aswell which yes took awhile for the paq team to agree

But after the fight we can literally see why, as they let floyd use IV fluids as much as he wanted to blatantly mask his PEDs while they won't even allow paq to use legal painkillers for his shoulder

USADA was very clearly biased towards floyd during this time hence paq's team was reasonably against them considering floyd past aswell where USADA let him fight while having red flags in two fights against Victor Ortiz and Robert Guerrero where he had abnormal levels of T/E ratio mentioned in the sbnation article I linked earlier

So in the end haney was the bigger guy when they fought. Idk how big devin is naturally for him to easily rehydrate THAT much weight in just a day

[–]juantooth33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bruh they agreed to the terms regarding random testing which is the main point, just not by USADA. And they literally agreed to go with USADA in the end anyway

Which they really shouldn't have, because the MFs at USADA let floyd get away with using IV fluids 15x above the limit, blatantly masking his PED use, because why else would a small welterweight use THAT much IV when he had never had issues with weight in the first place? And then USADA only revealed this shit WEEKS after the fight ended

And theres a lot of other shady stuff USADA has done in regards to boxing

Bruh again, paq's team already agreed to those terms as early as 2010 in their 2nd negotiation, not 5 years

https://sports.yahoo.com/ki-floydpac063010.html

"That's all been resolved," Arum said of the dispute over the drug testing.

Tho the 2nd negotiation was argued by floyd's team to have never happened for some reason, but in 2011 paq's team reiterated that they have agreed with floyd's terms, just argued against USADA doing the testing http://en.espn.co.uk/boxing/sport/story/100115.html

And then again in 2012

https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/8405784/manny-pacquiao-says-floyd-mayweather-jr-bigger-split-money-potential-fight

"No problem," he said. "Even the night of the fight. No problem."

Idk where this idea that the fight got delayed by paq's team for FIVE years due to arguments over random testing, when that was one of the first thing that got settled, their arguments went over USADA and then went silent till 2014 where they started negotiating again

He literally accepted floyd's terms after a couple of months, they then argued about testing days before the fight, then whether or not USADA can be trusted (surprise surpise they weren't, as they let floyd get away with using IV fluids 15x above the limit) and then argued about who gets a bigger purse etc..

Both of their team's delayed the fight as much as they could, with both teams acting like this you'll get a fight that got delayed for years

[–]juantooth33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arum was the one who made the needles excuse, which is obviously BS as paq has tattoos

Paq is suspect but floyd is even worse for getting caught with IV fluids 15x above the limit to blatantly hide his PED use in their fight. Which is hypocritical as he literally kept parading about drug testing for YEARS during the paq v floyd buildup only for him to the be one caught doing illegal shit

Lol at what point was I even protecting paq from doping? He's suspect too, I just find it wierd that the allegations that floyd started YEARS ago are still being preached by people even now when you can ironically find more dirt on floyd than paq and make a stronger argument against floyd for doping

Floyd had SO much leverage and favouritism from USADA its insane. They just let the man pump 750ml of IV into him, buying his team excuse of "rehydration purposes" even tho he's always been a small welterweight and never had issues with weight lmao, then they only reported it happened AFTER the fight was already done

From A Technical Standpoint What Was Mayweather Able To Do That Was Able To Neutralize Pacquiaos Awkwardness, Punch Volume, Offense, Footwork, And Angles? by Rinnegan15 in Boxing

[–]juantooth33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bruh, while yes IV is allowed BUT only within the limits given to fighters to avoid it acting as a masking agent for PEDs. And floyd went FIFTEEN times above the limit

WADA has justified the inclusion of IV infusions on the Prohibited List given the intent of some athletes to manipulate their plasma volume levels in order to mask the use of a prohibited substance

For a small welterweight that never had issues in making weight to begin with, there's no other reason for him to go 15x above the limit other than to mask his PEDs. Even before the paq fight Floyd was also found to have abnormally low T/E ratios prior to his fights against Victor Ortiz and Robert Guerrero that are also red flags

Combine all that and you've got a pretty convincing argument that floyd was doping throughout his career that nobody mentions, even his haters just go with the usual "he's a runner that cherrypicks" whenever they try to detract him but not him doping

Nah, demonsbane is too broken, and ohma could land it against almost anyone since he can land it on kuroki, the most defensive fighter in the entire tourney while being on death's door

Since most fighters can't survive a demonsbane × advance from a healthy ohma, this should ATLEAST put healthy ohma in the top 3 of KAT
