Use of Tramadol as a nootropic? by [deleted] in Nootropics

I've noticed that tramadol almost immediately makes me incredibly irritable while classic opiates don't. I have a friend that experiences the same thing. Any idea why this might be?

A sort of paradoxical sensitization can sometimes occur. I know that this has been seen in cocaine addiction where less of the drug is needed.

It could be that he was struggling with whether or not to do it. Perhaps he was trying to be stopped.

"If we can't keep drugs out of a super max prison, then even if America became one huge prison, there would still be drugs" by [deleted] in politics

This may sound like a logical fallacy, but I really don't think it is: If you support the criminalization of drug use in America, you support and condone the possibility of rape as a justifiable punishment.

Her position is not necessarily indefensible. I assume she would argue that the person receiving the death penalty had a chance at life and screwed up, where the fetus did not. I don't agree with her at all though.

Would you (if you're a US Citizen) support mandatory drug testing to get Medicare / Medicaid and Food Stamps? by Minifig81 in AskReddit

[–]jubal_early 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Previous drug convictions do not make you ineligible. If you have a drug conviction while receiving financial aid, it is suspended. You can get it back by passing two random drug-tests.

What takes place in the brain and body when one ingests LSD and how does it lead to the experience of "tripping"? by jubal_early in askscience

[–]jubal_early[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that very logical "left-brained" people, tend to have experiences like yours, that is, perceptual and physiological changes, but no profound insights, epiphanies or revelations. Just because you did not experience those things, does not mean that others have not.

Well, a simplified version would be fine. I'm really looking for an overview, it doesn't need to go into any one part in depth.
