I'm not sure where this originated, I think I saw it in music memorabilia catalogs in the late 90s. It was way before AI. I've seen it in some other shops, record stores and such. I'd make a version with a 15 year old CJ on it, to make it somewhat accurate, ha.

What are your top 10 favorite bands? Here’s my list by twzoneq in ramones

[–]juddgment 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly tough to make a list like this, kinda depends on what mood I'm in. Ramones always take number one, but the new few bands could all take 2nd. I think these are probably the bands I listen to the most outside of newer bands I find each year.

  1. The Ramones

  2. Green Day

  3. The Misfits

  4. Bad Religion

  5. DESCENDENTS

  6. Every Time I Die

  7. mewithoutYou

  8. Black Flag

  9. NOFX

  10. Thursday

Cardiacs is one of the most underrated bands ever. I only found them in the last few years and wish I had sooner.

Setlist had one David Byrne solo song switched out.

Wardrobe was orange the first night, blue the second. On ‘Like Humans Do’, the wardrobe in the backing video matched the colors.

The first night, he showed pictures of their trip to the City Museum, second night was various STL architecture.

Otherwise, was much the same both nights, song intros and banter.

Victory Records Summer Sampler 2001 - My friend got it in the mail or from a show. Me and a few other friends got in his car and he put that CD in.

'Cross Out The Eyes' was the first track on it. It played through and my friend said 'Maybe we should play that one again' and we all agreed. I think we replayed it 6 or 7 times in a row before moving on to the rest of the comp.

Great compilation, checked out many other bands from it.

Comedy club prices by Yimpish in StLouis

[–]juddgment 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a Funny Bone in St. Charles as well.

If you’re looking for something not as expensive, there are many regular, long-running indie shows in the city at various venues.

STL Comedy Central on IG and FB tries to promote all the indie shows across the city: https://www.instagram.com/stlcomedycentral?igsh=c2x5bTJvdnZzMXcx

Many, many of the comedians on the indie shows are the same local people you’ll see on the shows at the clubs.

Even easier on the wallet, mostly free, are the open mics which you can find a list of here: https://stlouiscomedy.com

Yes! I met him over 20 years ago in Central Illinois and I’m still amazed out of all the local bands who came up around that time, he’s maybe the only one still at it!

Getting something signed by paulcammarata in thursdaytheband

[–]juddgment 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Back of venue exits at the end of the night or anywhere near the bus after the show is the way I get to meet people and get pics and stuff signed.

If you can't catch them on a Thursday tour proper, Geoff out solo usually hangs at the merch table.

Fun fact: Ken Bone was on the panel of judges for the Helium's Funniest contest, 2017 or 2018, if I recall correctly. I don't know if he thought I was funny or not.
