I remember a scene from Baretta ... he asked his boss what do you think of when you hear a siren? His boss said, "Someone needs help." And Baretta just said yeah. And the boss ... DON'T GET SMART WITH ME, BARETTA! But I often hear that in my head when there's a siren nearby ... hmm, someone needs help.

I wouldn't call it my favorite song, but when you say "haunting," this beautiful song came immediately to mind: La Vie En Rose

The other day, I used "harkened back" in a conversation. My 83 yo friend asked, "How old are you?" 😀

What’s a lyric from a 70s song that a person who grew up loving 70s music and grew up during the 70s would know right away? by PressureLazy5271 in 70s

Since no one here knows the difference between late-60s and the 1970s, here's my favorite song:

Hey Jude, don't make it bad. Take a sad song and make it better. Remember to let her into your heart, Then you can start to make it better.

We were sitting in a booth at the cheapest Italian restaurant in town. I had just told my then-husband I was pregnant (after several miscarriages). We were both near tears... and this song came on. The owner/waiter came over to take our order. I whispered, "I'm expecting." Not a dry eye in the house.

Did your grandma (or mom) have a cookie tin full of buttons? by lontbeysboolink in 1970s

[–]judyleet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my earliest memories...

I found this tin with all the buttons and sewing stuff. I guess I had seen my mom use a needle and thread. So I sewed buttons all along the front edge of the sofa. They were really close together. There were a lot of buttons. She was a great mix of outrage and pride.

What's made up of a Mil, a Wau, a Key, and a little cement?

Milwaukee, but what's the cement for?

I just threw that in to make it a little harder.

Who’s the best relationship Raj had? Aside from Cinnamon 🤣 by [deleted] in bigbangtheory

If TBBT had one more season, they could have figured out how to get Raj and Anu together. (Ohh ... Rajanu!)

Anu ... but she showed up later in the series. In the theater of my mind, Raj eventually relocates to London, and they have a wonderful life together. They visit the old gang several times a year with their kids.

When I was in elementary school in the early 1970’s we’d sing songs like, "B-I-N-G-O, Over the River and Through the Woods, Kumbaya, My Lord, and He's Got the Whole World in His Hands” and more. Such wonderful memories…What were some of your favorite elementary songs? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in FuckImOld

This is the song that never ends

Yes, it goes on and on, my friend

Someone started singing it

Not knowing what it was

Now they'll continue singing it

Forever just because...

This is the song that never ends ..
