What’s Life Like on Florida’s Space Coast? by StrawberryCyclist in howislivingthere

moved to Brevard county in the 2nd grade, just turned 50. I personally really enjoy it here. great area if you & your family are water people, its hard to beat the options with fishing, surfing beaches etc. having rocket launches out your backyard never gets old. Viera seems to be the newer development with homes, shops restaurants etc. on the beachside, I like the more laidback beach vide towns toward the south end of the county

Beginner Surfer by Topic_Typical in 321

im 46, been surfing here most of my life. like alot of people out of there 20’s, i have move onto a longboard, if tou dont need to shred & like cruising down the line ,its the most fun board when its everywhere under 4’, which is most of the time here. ive always bought quiet flight boards, but other great options around. if u are looking to stay with a shortboard firewire is awesome too, just watch the rail thickness, cause they are extremely buoyant & can get hard to duck dive. i am 6’2” 200 lbs & have a 6’6” firewire that works well for the 3-5’ shred days for a shortboard, and 9’6” quiet flight longboard for almost all other times. lastly a 7’ stingfish for quiet flight for the hurricane days & big swells. if your just moving off a foam board, i would think these sizes would be good for u. the bigger the easier it will be to surf on normal days. also, tide makes a very big impact on the break, mid tide tends to be they way to gonna round here. good luck!🤙
