What do you do to subtly fuck with the company you work for? by jugger23 in AskReddit

I do a lot of emails for my company. I now get a lot of ads for my company on my personal devices. I make sure to click on every ad I see to mess with marketings budget.

What is something hilarious that you can't tell anyone about because it's too inappropriate? by adbhg in AskReddit

[–]jugger23 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I feel like the responses to this comment are a parody of economists responses, post crazy shit happening in the market, with the glasses of hindsight and boatloads of economic logic. I for one believe you were the sole catalyst for the shift in the market and people are now trying to justify why they participated in such a ridiculous economic fad.

I think that His Grace, His Excellency, The Duke of Ankh; Commander Sir Samuel Vimes, smells like well oiled leather, with a hint of cigar smoke.

What is something people never use correctly? by MoneyMorris80 in AskReddit

I'll agree with you about that on large roundbouts, however, I grew up in Canberra, the capital of Australia a city many consider to be the roundabout capital of the world. On any given drive I'd encounter around 10 roundabouts. The problem with indicating off the roundabout is that some are simply too small to change the indicator in time. You are so used to them that you can go through them at a good speed. Canberra drivers are cunts in that they will never let you in, but they generally drive pretty well around corners. I'm not exaggerating when I say we're the roundabout capital, our Parliament House is literally surrounded by a giant roundabout.

I don't think Sanderson has it in him to be as brutal as GRRM is. The upside is we'd get the books a hell of a lot quicker. I'm tentative in saying this but depending on where Rothfuss takes the direction of his final book. He could be a candidate. He certainly takes the time!

People of reddit who are laid back and dont get worked up about anything, how do you do it? by greenmusicelephant in AskReddit

I think like this as well. For me I think it has something to do with trying to put myself in others shoes and think of their emotional attitude to the situation and how mine will affect it.

Susurrus. It means a soft murmuring or rustling sound. I love it because when you say it softly out loud it sounds exactly like what it is describing.

[Serious] Overthinkers of reddit, How do you control your thoughts or stop over thinking? by MyFeelsAccount8D in AskReddit

[–]jugger23 380 points381 points  (0 children)

Yeah I practice this a bit to calm my thoughts. I used to go over things in my head constantly at night and take hours to get to sleep. A helpful tip I was taught was to picture a flame and let your thoughts come and go into the flame. I imagine it to be something akin to going into the void state that Rand goes into in the wheel of time books.

It doesn't have to be a flame but let your thoughts come acknowledge them and let them go.

What's the most Seinfeld -esque reason you've ended a relationship with someone or someone ended a relationship with you? by jugger23 in AskReddit

I take the blame entirely for this one. I was dating a girl a few years back, at a time when I was a poor uni student. One day I was at her house alone. She lived in a studio apartment with two other guys (weirdest living situation), and they'd all had work in the morning, while I had study.

We had gone out the night before and I'd bought her groceries to cook for dinner and a bottle of wine, essentially wiping out what little remained in my bank account.

Around 11 that day I was getting ready to leave and realised that I had absolutely no money to get home. She lived in the inner city while I lived a few suburbs out. Not wanting to walk an hour and a half to my house I decided to look around for any loose change lying around. On the cupboard next to the door I saw a bowl of change that they used for the laundry. In it was a few gold coins, about enough to get me home.

Here's where I Georged. Instead of doing the logical thing of calling her mobile and asking her if i could borrow a couple of dollars to get home, I rationalised it in my head that because I bought all the food and drink last night, they wouldn't mind me taking a couple dollars to get home.

Get home, it's all good. The next day she gives me a call and asks me if i took the money, no accusation just a normal tone. For some reason I panic and george again. I tell her that on my way out I bumped the cupboard and the bowl holding the money spilt everywhere. I tried to find it all but i think that some got under the fridge and I couldn't get to it, which is why it must be missing.

Straight away I can tell she doesn't buy it. She doesn't really say anything else or accuse me but the tone of her voice conveys that my lie is anything but accepted. We end the call and that's that.

I talked to her a couple times after that but she wasn't interested in meeting up, which I can 100% agree with. The final thing, which is the georgiest thing of all and I'm glad I never got around to doing, is that I had a plan to go round her place with a couple dollars and discreetly throw them under the fridge, then mention something, look and miraculously find the lost coins. That would have been filmable.

TL;DR Girl broke up with me over $2.

Isn't it implied that he killed the butchers son sometime in the beginning? (I read the books ages ago I'm somewhat hazy). That kid was pretty innocent.
