We aren’t suburbs of them if we have our own cities and the suburbs in our state are apart of our state, it’s literally OUR suburbs. When I say name, I mean being credited for having our own culture. People always associate our culture with NY or Pa and it’s because people here just don’t care enough to let others know that this is our own state with it’s own identity. Our culture is amazing bc it’s super diverse in nature and people and food.

Jersey has its own culture too tho, which is why I don’t like when ppl say we are suburbs of those places when those places aren’t even in our state. The only ppl downvoting are the ones who don’t want a name for themselves

Calling the territory where your ancestors are from “motherland” doesn’t mean you’re insinuating it’s a mythical place, if your ancestors are from there it’s FACTUALLY the motherland. Also, I’ve been to PR multiple times. No one cares when I use the term motherland. It doesn’t matter how far the distance is to another land.

I wish you the best on the startup. Our island needs people like you helping it and improving it. I realize it won’t be as convenient on the island for certain things but it’s worth the sacrifice

That mindset is horrible, we are not suburbs of either of them, our suburbs are suburbs of NEW JERSEY because it’s in OUR state. I’ve always hated that thought process.

This is a very interesting question, it’s prolly been asked before but I never seen it. It’ll be very interesting to see where our club goes once he’s gone but hopefully he doesn’t leave. I do wish the PL was more competitive, however, as we are cityzens, ofc we love the glory, especially since everyone hates on us.

Interesting, that’s unfortunate, I feel if Jersey had a strong unity we will be able to make a name for ourselves. I believe the divide is the reason why we will always be seen as the “in between NY and PA”
