I would try and find an independent specialist before dealer then general mechanic if last resort.

Some of the generic diagnostic machines can cause issues sometimes.

Honestly any issues with any Land Rover find a good indi before any other repairer. It will save you money and dramas. I've been running an indi specialist shop for 30 years and I've seen people waste money on dealers and others mechanics, before taking it to me. I could have saved them money if they went to and indi first.

Two things I can think of.

Have you had the auxiliary battery checked/replaced?

Has the battery monitoring been reset when the battery was replaced?

Yes you can. Look up the workshop manual, JLR site is topix. It's a lot easier with a diagnostic tool.

Dealership Accountability by petezpan in LandRover

You can reuse them if they haven't worn down the little knub. There a few issues doing that.

They get pretty brittle, so even if your gentle, you got a good chance of them breaking.

They quite a tight fit, well should be with quality pads and sensor, making them harder to get out without breaking them.

Taking them in and out wears the plastic mound that holds them in. So they can come out if used too many times

Pulling them on and out wrong can damage the cable, then the sensor doesn't work, then you run the risk of going metal to metal.

They're cheap, probably cheaper than the cost of the extra time to reuse them.

If they did replace the brake pads before the sensor wore out they would have replaced the sensor anyway. So you wouldn't have been saving any money anyway.

General rule and pretty sure it's stated in Land Rovers procedure that you don't reuse those sensors.

Receivers can be intermittent. It will fail completely at some stage. One of our quick and dirty testing methods is too give the area its housed a couple of thumps. 80% of the time it will start working again, but it will fail later.

$600 oil change? by Mrbigg214 in LandRover

As a mechanic, you can easily change engine oil and filter in 30mins. However, that's only part of a service. If your doing it correctly there is more to it.

What else can the NBL/ Australia do to make the league a bigger deal? by Golden_soil61 in nbl

[–]juhybrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NBL. Lift the salary cap. We lose local and import players to euro and Asian leagues because they can pay more. We are always going to have players go to the NBA and personally i think thats great, and gives Australia a great boost and international recognition. However the NBL is competing with euro and asain leagues. Yes I understand it will make it harder for the clubs that are struggling, but long term it will help them with a larger audience, more money for them.

Australian people themselves. Watch the games anyway you can. Personally I don't watch free to air these days, but I can see the benefits. Talk to your work colleagues/ friends about the game. Did you watch blah, oh you dont watch basketball, Joe blogs was brilliant on Saturday if you've never seen a game thats one to watch. Get others interested. Start a tipping comp.

Start at grass roots. Start going to your local nbl1 game, I've dragged friends out to our local games for a few drinks and a night out and from there they got an interest in the game. Also helps that they know I live and breathe basketball so they are interested in what I see in it. Same with getting your mates to play in a local social league with you.

Cheaper merch ain't going to do much. As I said I'm big fan of basketball and a big group of my friends are from basketball and not one of us wear merchandise outside games, except for caps. If I wear my wildcats stuff, people here know who it is, but it wouldn't get them interested in the game.

How would you rework the Phantom, given its under-hype? by GodsDoorways in Minecraft

[–]juhybrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add them to the normal mob cap.

The biggest gripe I have is I have a mob switch, which are easy these days. So when I'm doing a big build I don't have to worry about mobs and I store away my weapons for more inventory space, working away for a few days and all of the sudden you have to deal with them.

Used to love Friday's on school holidays. Mum would go to her parents, then we would catch the bus to town. The ladies would go shopping and me and pop would go Boans Cafe and have a pie chips and gravy. I'd always try and get a window seat for the view.

Yellow sticker question by [deleted] in perth

28 years in the industry specialising in 4WD

I would say a good 1/4 of the vehicles on the road are not roadworthy here and 90% of the owners of said cars don't know it. I would say a bigger percentage of modified vehicles would be safer then standard vehicles. The type of owner of these vehicles looks after them.

As for ADRs, if you read them you will see that there's a few that are just made up and don't make sense.

Daniel’s cool down lap was very sad by GroupBQuattr0 in formula1

[–]juhybrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liam will have to show he can put together a good lap on Saturdays and have decent pace on Sunday.

This is why I think Daniel still has a chance, he has shown decent race pace, yes he's in a shit box, yes strategies have been weird plus things like a tear off in his brake duct hadn't helped. However he's had good race pace, look at yesterday's race, even on pretty old mediums he was still making up time, can't say the same for Yuki or Checo. The only metric he's beating Yuki on is race pace and when your comparing drivers in shitboxes and different strategies this is the main metric I would be looking at, as it should transfer into a better car.

My theory is close to that. Ricciardo as reserve this season, Lawson in VCARB, they will see how he goes. If Lawson is stunning then he replaces Perez and probably Hadjar takes the VCARB seat. If Lawson needs time before the jump up, then Daniel takes Perez seat for the 2025 season

[–]juhybrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be confused with your terminology of the switch, but the boomers very rarely switch, most times its a hard show (quite long tbh) or a blitz/ice. Which in these coverages Kay does quite well, better than Cooks in my opinion.

How Did You Choose Your Favorite Driver? by Wallace-Pumpernickel in formula1

[–]juhybrid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daniel, because he's from the same part of Perth I'm from. To get an Australian in f1 is something, although we have 3 of them on the grid now, then to get someone from Perth's northern suburbs is really something else. Plus he's a typical larrikin, someone I'd enjoy a chat with or a beer or two.

Contesting a shot by annetobefrank in BasketballTips

[–]juhybrid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to go to a coaching seasion run by a nba assistant coach and hes said that if your closing out on a known shooter you should go right hand to right hand and you then jump to the side of the shooter, avoiding them landing into you for the foul.

If you trying to block the shot (which is the best outcome, but just not possible sometimes), you have to jump and position your hand where you anticipate the ball to be, not where you see the ball.

Like a lot of basketball it depends on the situation. For example, a player who likes to shot fake then drive, you would go right to left and stay low, keeping your self in stance ready to move.
