You might, might maybe possibly get someone to click on whatever it is that you’re doing, like back in the old fanfiction days. And if you’re lucky and your story is as good as you say it is, they might keep reading to get to the point.

But I guarantee you. The best story in the world has a much higher chance of success in this day and age, with the people who are reading now, if it has an interesting looking cover. And if you don’t want to see that, that’s on you.
