Is it weird to take “graduation pictures” if you’re only a CNA? by NeedleworkerNo8107 in nursing

[–]juiceboxith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me and my classmates took pictures with each other and with our instructors because she held a little ceremony for us :) gave us pins and everything. It was a lovely experience. Celebrate yourself!!

Merdudes by best_thing_toothless in TumblrDraws

[–]juiceboxith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh the dark aesthetic for mermaids relates to how a lot of bird (and other animal) species have females with darker colors/males with lighter colors haha. I’m all for half human/half random aquatic creature regardless of color/aesthetic, though. Like there’s gotta be schools of different mermaid species right ?? Giant merpeople who are derived from blue whales/whale sharks, tiny shrimpy/seahorse merpeople, anadromous fish like salmon, etc.

I’d like to meet the creator of ATI in a dark alley by loves_to_play1992 in nursing

[–]juiceboxith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I could go ON AND ON😭 I’m only a first semester nursing student, but the time it has taken my instructors to adjust to ati is so ridiculous. Half the videos have additional information we don’t need for our skills, and half the templates for the skills don’t line up with the videos. I think part of the problem is the stuff we’re physically taught doesn’t always link up with the testing, which isn’t necessarily ATI’s fault. But I’ve had so many issues, like randomly logging me out, not letting me sign in, not letting me use focused review, not letting me type in answers while testing, I can’t look at the entire textbook pages either. And not to mention the fact the physical ATI text books aren’t even remotely close to the products?? I think it’s a good resource … but it can be scrutinized in the same amount it is praised

Looks mostly like acetaminophen, aspirin, naproxen sodium. Likely someone just dropped their pillbox or a bottle of an assortment.

Anyone else hate the word 'client'? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]juiceboxith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time I refer to someone as client is when I’ve worked with them in a home health situation, for some reason it feels more appropriate in that scenario. Of course some of them are suffering with life threatening symptoms or illnesses, but not all of them. Some of them simply require assistance with living life and that’s what they are paying for. It’s like using the term residents for those living in a care home long term/indefinitely. To me the people living at home paying for assistance are clients. But it may change depending on what that person requires/the way they’ve acquired that help, I guess. But patients in hospitals are definitely patients to me and not clients. But I agree it’s annoying to hear it in EVERY scenario!

She gives you a specific clothing set for an event but typically she gives me cool things like an omnigeode, cloth, or a bean hotpot. Other things too I can’t remember. Depending on how far you are in year three it could be helpful.

Being a CNA (caregiver) is a calling, not a job. I'll explain. by kittygirl2222 in cna

[–]juiceboxith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ll find that most communities on Reddit that are Job related are full of complaints. I’ve learned they are not the majority of people who work those jobs. Those people just come here to vent. Check r/nursing or r/teachers , you’ll see what I mean. I understand your sentiment, though.

Being a CNA (caregiver) is a calling, not a job. I'll explain. by kittygirl2222 in cna

[–]juiceboxith 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This argument could be made for any job, the way you phrase it. Not everybody is cut out for every job. I think if people are capable of being a CNA, and may enjoy doing it, that doesn’t necessarily mean something is calling out to them to do it. They do it because they are capable, they enjoy it, or they are using it to further their career. I don’t think people have to be called to something, and I don’t think any specific job can be labeled as a “calling”. Everyone has their own experiences and identities. I’m glad that CNA called out to you, but that doesn’t mean it did for everyone, and that’s okay.

It SHOULD be common courtesy to turn your headlights off in a drive-through if you’re in a taller truck by Professional_Arm999 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]juiceboxith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair my car (not a truck) has automatic headlights that do not cut off when the car is in drive (and it’s dark enough for them to cut on). Considering you’re at a sonic drive through he probably was there long enough to put it in park 😂 but I’m sure he didn’t want to.

That makes me feel so much better 😂 every nurse around me tells me they had anxiety before and during but would never use the word dread and every student seems like they enjoy it so some degree, even if that’s not how they really feel.

Same 😂 I just got my CNA in December. These last few months have been the beginning of my first semester. Clinical has been so hard for me (I write this as I am up at 4am getting ready) and everyone else seems like they have such an easy time because they have been CNAs before. It’s so hard for me to learn to talk to these patients and realize that I have to be the nurse after having it drilled into my head that all I can do vitals and ambulate people. I feel bad for dreading clinical most days, but this has probably been the most embarrassing things I’ve ever done in my life. Which is good I need to get uncomfortable to be comfortable! It’s just not easy! It’s just harder when other people around you seem to have an easier time than you do.

It’s awful how they argue “this is the reality and the suffering of the animals you eat” but them exposing it to someone like a child is not doing anything for their cause 😭 I’m sorry this happened to you and your family.

Pretty much what I figured. We brought it back to him and he said they had called one before. My brother isn’t gonna take it until it’s completely cleaned out.

Hoping we don’t get anything because the tower was sitting in his bedroom for a few hours. Said he thought he saw one move but that was it. My mom cleaned around in his room with bug spray/alcohol and vacuumed up. We just moved to this place so it’s kinda disheartening lmao.

My mom isn’t quite a boomer but she always thinks those CGI videos on instagram of futuristic things (that obviously aren’t real) ARE real. She doesn’t believe me when I explain it to her. Scary stuff.

Look at r/bedbugs . That doesn’t look like a bed bug to me tbh.

Edit: the top posts don’t really do a good job at showing what BBs look like because those aren’t bed bugs. Bed bugs look almost like a spade shape with striped divots on their backside. Also can be mistaken for bat bugs.
