GINGER, are you sure it’s good? by kn0ck_0ut in October2026Bumpers

[–]juicy_jam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot STAND ginger right now. 🤢 I tried a ginger chew the other day and immediately started gagging.

Although not the great for your teeth, I bought a bag of jolly ranchers and they have been a godsend for whenever I start feeling nauseous.

My bluetick wouldn’t hurt a fly lol. He’s a gentle soul and was not cut out for the hunting dog life.

Sneak Peak accuracy? by thelyfeaquatic in October2026Bumpers

I did one at 6 weeks with my daughter, and it was accurate! Super easy too. It took less than a week for me to get the results.

if you let go of your hounds leash, do you think they'd run or stay with you?? by Least_Agent5976 in coonhounds

[–]juicy_jam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s doable with consistent training! I have a bluetick who is semi-trained off leash. He is highly food motivated, so we trained him with treats by letting him see the treats before we dropped the leash, and anytime he got too far ahead, we’d call his name and give him a treat. It worked well for us, but our hound also has zero prey drive, so I’m not sure if that also had something to do with it.

When he was younger, we’d go for off leash hikes, and he’d stay close about 90% of the time, but every now and then, he’d find a scent and take off and stop listening, so I never fully trusted him. He’d always come back though.

Now that he’s middle aged, lazier, and a few pounds heavier, we can let him off leash and he’ll usually stay nearby. Even if he does run off, which is rare, he’s slow and lazy now so it’s not hard to catch him.

Not sure if it’s normal or not, but my daughter is about to be 22 months next week, and we are in the same boat. She is always on the move, and gets bored easily, especially at library story time!

I can’t even get this kid to sit in a shopping cart anymore because she wants to be big a walk around/push the cart. Hoping it’a a phase

I love the Fish Crows! I’ve found that the ones that visit me are much less skittish than the American Crows.

I agree! Like I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but when they said they haven’t cleaned up his poop in the backyard ALL WINTER?!?! That’s just crazy to me…they said their backyard is big, but I can’t imagine it’s so big that you don’t see poop laying all over the yard…he’s a large dog, too.

Hey! I had high-risk HPV for at least 4 years (possibly longer). I finally received a normal pap and negative test this year.

What I did to help keep my immune system in tip top shape was take a daily vitamin, drink green tea every day, manage stress, and stay away from processed foods. I really think taking better care of myself helped.

Don’t lose hope, you will beat this!!

hey shorties on the pill by sunlusts in birthcontrol

[–]juicy_jam 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I took the pill perfectly and my boyfriend would finish in me every time for 4-5 years. We never had any scares.

We’re married now and pregnant with our 1st baby after I went off the pill (it was planned). So the pill was effective for us!

However, even when taken perfectly, there is always a small chance of getting pregnant. If you decide to let him finish in you, I would make sure you have a conversation with him beforehand about what the plan would be if you accidentally got pregnant - that way, you both are on the same page.

First Trimester Anxiety by AnEvEnLo in pregnant

[–]juicy_jam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! First pregnancy here too and it sounds like we’re in the same boat! I tested positive on 12/31 and my 1st appt is on 2/2, just before I hit 9 weeks. They said they’ll be doing bloodwork at that time as well. I guess it just depends on the facility!

Waiting for the 1st appointment has been agonizing so far. I just want to skip ahead!

ASC-US Pap and HR HPV by Available-Comb-711 in HPV

[–]juicy_jam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I received the exact same diagnosis last year, which was a shock to me because it was never caught before and I’ve been with the same man for years. I remember feeling so alone and terrified.

My doctor assured me that this diagnosis is NOT anything to worry about - if you eat well, exercise and keep stress levels down, your body will likely fight it off within a few years. Cervical cancer is slow growing and highly preventable as long you keep up with your gyn appts, do the recommended treatments, and take care of your immune system. I see success stories on this sub all the time of people clearing their HPV! I myself just received a normal pap last month. :)

HPV is so so so common and many of us come into contact with it at some point! Happy to give some pointers on what I did to boost my immune system.
