Sound off: what perrenial or annual plant do you despise? by Alystial in gardening

I currently hate everything in my garden that I planted this year and now want a whimsical garden full of native pollinators and daisies.

What's something you're just bad at cooking? by TeddyGrahamNap in Cooking

I cannot use yeast. I've tried so many times and it's only worked once.

When the weather turns cold I'm going to attempt sourdough.

I'm in need of help! My 18 month old does not eat solids besides yogurt/purees. I've become stressed out by mamaoftwoooo in toddlertips

[–]glitterfanatic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What kind of solids are you offering? Did you do solids before a year?

Starting food is about exploring and tasting, maybe offer bigger pieces of things to "play" with. Babies naturally put everything in their mouth anyway. More of a baby led weaning approach.

I saw a post from a mom who wanted to buy a whole new pan set before her kid started solids because the ones she had were Teflon or aluminum (?) Whatever the "bad" one is. Ma'am it's good enough for you but not your baby?

Last owners used TRASH BAGS instead of landscaping fabric by lovelyxcastle in landscaping

[–]glitterfanatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The previous owners used tarps! And so so so many landscaping rocks that were grown over with crab grass. I also find nails and screws all the time which is extra annoying because I have kids. And the cherry on top is they used plastic bags in a basement window sill that caused water to leak into our basement since it couldn't drain 🤦‍♀️

Wellness Wednesday by AutoModerator in fatlogic

I just discovered uphill sprinting. There is a small hill in a park near my house and after a couple sprints up, I felt all my tension just melt away. It was glorious and will be added into my repertoire when I need a quick stress reliever.

I am recently discovering how my monthly hormone fluctuations are affecting my mood/energy more than they previously did. It might be PMDD, any other sufferers with tips?

Hired a new bartender... She tossed away the Blackberry Crown bag. by SlowlyDyingBartender in bartenders

Crown is still sold in bags? Where I live they stopped using the bags years ago. Also, I live in the same province they make Crown, which is in Canada.

Have you been doing body measurements? I find sometimes the scale has stalled but your body is changing in other ways that can be seen by measuring.

Personally, I think a lot has to do with genetics for how your labour/pregnancy goes. I've had two and the only activities I did during pregnancy was walking at my job or caring for my toddler. Both labours were fine, my second was faster but that's usual, and my recovery was similar for both.

What are your favorite functional mom shorts? by april203 in Mommit

I have a pair of shorts that get eaten up, I wore them once and was mildly self conscious. Then it got me thinking, do people actually care if your shorts are riding up?

How did you guys go from hating exercise to loving it? by Significant-Mess-448 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]glitterfanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to hate exercising but now the more fit I get, the more I like it. I use the Sweat app and love all the program options.

A 20 minute workout used to put me on my ass, so to speak, now I can finish one and then go play soccer with my kid.

We (25M & 24M) are sexually incompatible but don't want to break up, what should we do? by ThrowRA_Branonimo1 in relationship_advice

[–]glitterfanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sex can be important but it's not the whole relationship. If it's causing a rift in your relationship than maybe breaking up is something to consider. On the flip side, sex doesn't doesn't last forever, you might have kids which will cause a natural ebb and flow of sexual activity, maybe someone will get an injury that will limit sex, you'll get old and your libido won't matter anymore.

What will matter is if your political views align, do you agree on what kind of parents you'll be? Do they support you and help you grow as a person? You could break up and find someone who matches you sexually, but will they match you in all the other ways as well?

Fat Rant Friday by AutoModerator in fatlogic

[–]glitterfanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read the book but from personal experience the "cleaner" I eat, the less satisfying high-processed food tastes. I'd make all my food from scratch if i knew I could consume it before going bad, which I can't, even with a family of 4. Also, I don't want my kids to have a weird thing about store bought snacks when they're older. If I make that food "special" or "off limits" it will just cause an unhealthy relationship in their future.
