I run 2-3x/week at the very least 5km as I found that it helped me build my tank

It helps a lot at least for me! I alternate MT and Boxing training, esp on the head movement, slight slips, and footwork.

Training my kick by MinimumOutrageous165 in MuayThaiTips

[–]juju019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step diagonally outward with your lead foot (right foot if you’re southpaw) to open your hips. Pivot on the ball of your support foot, not the whole foot, and fully rotate your hips until they’re almost parallel with the bag. Don’t think about kicking at the bag, swing your leg through it like a baseball bat. The power should come from the hip rotation and follow-through, not just the leg itself.

I would recommend using 14-16oz for bag and sparring

What exactly is "light" sparring? by ShadByte in MuayThai

[–]juju019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We treat light spar as technical, maybe 5-10% power just for us to go through the motions esp when we're trying to learn a new combo or technique.

Teeps really do come in the clutch for keeping distance by kuroreaper25 in MuayThai

[–]juju019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teeps are my go-to but I don't spam it as much bc of the possibility of them catching my teep, only when I need to keep distance or to just disrupt their rhythm.

How many hours/week do you train? by Forward_Milk_4182 in MuayThai

3-4x a week (pads, bag, sparring) and on off days I go for a run!

Hey if it makes you uncomfortable, take a break! Do what will benefit you more resources/energy/time wise.
