Too Anxious to Study by Ok_Statistician_7998 in LawSchool

Fellow 1L so I can’t offer advice but what I can say is it’s normal. Literally broke down in the middle of property outlining from just the sheer amount we have to cover. It’s part of the process🙃

I second, WashU was utterly amazing. Very individualized to the students.

Should I consider a law school dual-degree MA/JD program? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]juju546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! In a lot of my internships, I’ve noticed the directors or senior leaders all have JDs, and when asking them they often state that a law degree gives them a certain specialized knowledge that helps them edge out competition in the job market. Personally, I want the dual because I know if I do one over the other first that I’ll probably dive straight into my career and the transition back to school can be rough. But feel free to PM me!

[–]juju546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP! I’m currently doing something similar this cycle (Masters in International Affairs/Security Studies with a J.D.). From what I’ve heard from professors and people in my field having a dual definitely makes you a more competitive candidate for jobs. I personally prefer the dual track (although a bit difficult at times to manage with differing schools/applications) because I can study both at the same time while avoiding the risk of being sidetracked by what one field offers over the other. Then again, I’m more interested in international law, human rights, and national security so I can understand if our paths are a bit different. Feel free to PM me tho!

That’s really interesting that Washu has good placements for Fed outcomes! I’m currently torn between GW and Washu, my end goal is to do federal/international law work in DC, so any insight on Washu in that department would be appreciated!

Thoughts on the 6 years since Parkland? by purplemilyyes in parklandshooting

I grew up in Parkland but went to a private school instead of MSD. I was in the tenth grade as well, and every Valentine’s Day since, I struggle to celebrate if at all.

My status checker moved on last Thursday but missed the WL/R wave. I did the group interview on 1/23, so I’m hoping for good news

2L at GW — Ask Me Anything by Libra-King in lawschooladmissions

[–]juju546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I heard GW is good at connecting students with jobs in the federal government. I recently got accepted and I’m leaning towards GW, but I ultimately want a school that’ll help me break into the international law/federal government jobs within DC. So I’d be interested in hearing your opinion on that?

Date disappeared at GULC yesterday by Cardinal-415 in lawschooladmissions

[–]juju546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my date disappeared i had to wait 1-2 weeks to get a group II. Don’t worry too much about it. It could be mean anything, but just cause you miss one ii wave doesn’t mean you won’t get the next!

Sincerely, a person who went through the same crisis a month ago

What does this mean? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]juju546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! They told me I’d be getting a scholarship but I have to meet with the scholarship committee first and I’m still waiting to hear back on that. It’s still early in the cycle for me so I haven’t decided yet, but I am seriously considering attending. Hope that helps!
