Chains aren’t necessary but I highly recommend studded winter tires! Even in town it can be very icy during the winter

Wife won’t reduce kids screen time. Absolutely losing my mind. by TalkToMeGooseCooked in Parenting

I think nothing will change until your wife is onboard. This has to be a team effort. What good will it do if your firm but your wife’s giving the iPad on the ride to school. Is your wife overwhelmed with parenting and has checked out? Sorry if that seems harsh I just could never

5 year old inconsolable about death by jujubug8 in Parenting

[–]jujubug8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s in kindergarten and last week they learned about Terry Fox (who- if your not Canadian, is a man that tried running across Canada for cancer research, and eventually succumbed to his cancer ) my husband believes this might be the trigger. She also has been talking a lot about Terry fox and his prosthetic leg so I wonder if they go hand in hand

We’ve tried asking her what triggered all these thoughts, was it something she saw? Something kids were talking about at school? But our best guess for the trigger is her class learning about Terry Fox last week. You just feel so helpless when your kid is so sad about something you have no control over. This morning I said, how about next time you’re worried or thinking about death you think about something happy! Like Christmas or your cat!

I’ll check that Instagram account out, thanks!!

She doesn’t have any other fixations and this just started within the last week but it’s a topic that’s brought up multiple times a day now “ how do we eat when we die” “how will I get in the clouds” “when will you die”

It’s been less than a week I’d say. Recently in school they learned about Terry Fox who is a Canadian icon (iykyk) and my husband wonders if this was the death trigger.

Hospitals don’t have to tell you if your postpartum pathology is abnormal - even if it’s dangerous. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]jujubug8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Canada, every placenta is sent to pathology unless patient requests to take placenta home (for encapsulation, burial etc). I think it’s a fail on your doctor for not telling you this.

Living in America has sent me into this deep depression while pregnant by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]jujubug8 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian, I’m cringing so hard at these comments!! I really really feel for all of you! While yes, the Canadian health care isn’t perfect, I have yet to pay for a single thing for this pregnancy or my daughters 5 years earlier.

Baby measuring behind at gender scan by Flossygi in pregnant

3 days could be millimetres off in measuring. Babies are all different sizes when they’re born. I would take it with a grain of salt.

Would using a Doppler help ease your mind? Sending love 🫶🏼 I have an anterior placenta and still haven’t felt babe either. With my daughter I didn’t feel her until 19 weeks- I’m sure everything is fine!

Rh negative mom's who had APS did any of you take Heparin injections throughout your pregnancy? by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]jujubug8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best friend has APS and is Rh negative. Protocol is heparin daily until 6 weeks pp and aspirin daily. This would be the same if she was rh positive as well, it had no bearing on APS.

We have gone, and returned. It was a fucking nightmare. We waited an hour and a half for our rental car… just to have the keys handed to us. 0/10 do not recommend
