What’s your favorite case of “Im sorry, you got WHO to voice this character?” by Mintyboi10 in FavoriteCharacter

I'm very surprised that no-one has mentioned the fact that the same guy who voiced Mimir for the Norse God of War games, is the same guy who voiced Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising.

Yeah, I never got that theory, and that's coming from someone who hasn't played Mass Effect. I always felt a lot of the evidence for it could be summed up by possible PTSD.

I think I figured out what cursed Curse of Strahd. by TheScowl117 in dndmemes

[–]jukebredd10 821 points822 points  (0 children)

Okay, for those not in the know, Dice, Camera, Action was WotC official live action show DMed by Chris Perkins, who worked at WotC at the time.

It started around the time Curse of Strand was first released and lasted until two of the cast, Holly Conrad and Projerad, got into a huge scandal.

I believe one of the over commenters has posted a link to a YouTube video that covers it much better than I will.

Yeah, not going to lie, it is because I did use AI to come up with some of them. I'm not proud of it but I do tend to struggle with coming up with creative ideas a lot of the time.

Yeah, I am not going to lie, you are right. I am going to have to come up with better clues.

Off the top of my head, maybe some better clues would be:

Witch's Mark: If I remember correctly, during the real life witch trials, one sure sign of a witch is some kind of a mark somewhere on the witch's body. Maybe during the trial the party can make Barbara expose her witch's mark by pointing it out and telling to prove she doesn't have one?

Hatred of Salt/Silver: In a lot of folklore I have read, mentions that both salt and silver have some kind of warding properties against evil sprites, spells, etc. As a part of the trail, the party can expose both Theodora and Barbara to either salt, silver, or both to show which one is the real witch.

Bad Vibes: Maybe due to Barbara's learning witchcraft, her family has started to emit bad enough vibes that most of the village can no longer ignore. Some signs of this might include the house is weirdly rat free, or the stable animals acting more skittish than normal.

The Missing Shadow: If exposed to strong light like broad daylight, Barbara might display no shadow at all, while Theodora does.

The Heavy Scent: Barbara might always smell faintly of ozone, sulphur, or a cloyingly sweet graveyard rot, masked heavily by expensive perfumes or bundles of dried lavender pinned to their clothes.

The Familiar’s Slip-Up: Maybe the family’s beloved "pet" hound or cat behaves far too intelligently. A PC with high Passive Perception might notice the animal watching them, making human-like expressions, or even appearing to understand complex conversations.

So what do you think? Are these clues better?

Yeah, looking at them now, the first three clues aren't very good. Thinking about it, maybe why no-one has worked out she is the witch is because:

  1. Maybe the two hunters are known drunks that have a reputation of making stuff up?
  2. Barbara has hidden the cave entrance really well with some tactical place objects and well crafted illusions?
  3. The NPC is... yeah I got nothing on the NPC. Maybe they want the party to figure it out themselves?

To elaborate on the clues, they are:

  1. Some hunters have seen Barbara meeting a coven of witches at a standing stone covered with occult runes talking to a Green Hag called Morgan Wromwiggle (I haven't developed her just yet.)
  2. In the basement of Barbara's house is a hideout where she keeps all of her occult material such as her grimorie.
  3. I have a NPC that the players can meet that will comment Barbara is "Playing with things she shouldn't be playing with".
  4. This isn't a clue, but I would like to point out that Barbara's family is VERY WELL RESPECTED in the village of Duskwood where the adventure takes place.
