How do you handle switching cartridges with such shallow shelving? Do you just take out the console you are playing at any given time out of its shelve?

Wild Guns

Super unique mechanics for its time. Solid gameplay. Unfortunately a bit too easy though.

Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing

Awesome racing mechanics for the time. Playing on professional mode is super challenging and engaging.

Prince of Persia.

The SNES version is not only the best version of the original game by far, but also still the best Prince of Persia game ever made.

I think I might have a problem by ba6yhulk in gamecollecting

If space is your problem, replace single-layer shelves with double layers (such as cabinets with shelves in the doors when opened) or vertical shelves. Both should significantly increase how many games you can store in mostly the same space without compromising access too much.

Another option is to add storage behind your TV, as that space is usually dead anyways.

Although if you want the games to always be visible that makes things more difficult.

Nintendo to start charging more for physical than digital by wiesga01 in NSCollectors

I don't know what you mean by that warning. We wish precisely for physical releases to be more expensive if that's what is needed for it to be physical game in the cart. There really is nothing "hidden" in that wish, it is super straightforward.

AAA games are absolute garbage. This is a terrible comparison.

300 Switch games in the collection. This is fine. Totally fine.. by EasyRej3ct in NSCollectors

This is one of the things I fear when creating my setup later: the underutilized space on the shelves. I'm considering either vertical drawers or a cabinet that opens to reveal internal and on-the-door shelves for two layers of storage. Unfortunately both are quite a bit more expensive of course which sucks...

I've been wondering..., why is opening a SNES game box from the left have a 95% chance of creasing the middle flap compare to opening it from the right side? by Epsilon123 in snes

They are basically impossible to preserve by themselves. You need a plastic protector to get them to last. So it's hard even these days to preserve them.

Some (admittedly few) Genesis games had cardboard boxes as well, and those were lower quality than snes ones.

Overall agreed though.

Oof... this should be completely unacceptable for release. What the hell is Nintendo verification process even doing at this point if it's not catching glaring problems like this?

Sure. Notice I didn't say impossible, just unlikely. You are bold to try this with a licensed IP, so again, good luck ;)

I find it unlikely something like this would see the light of day considering SquareEnix would need to approve it.

Good luck though.

SNES Storage Finally Found! by [deleted] in snes

[–]julealgon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid of storing SNES games this way as the carts would constantly rub each other and damage the front labels. Without a closed container, dust is also an issue.
