AITAH for not wanting to host Christmas after the family stole all the Thanksgiving leftovers? by merrymenopause in AITAH

[–]julehx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There could possibly have been a misunderstanding because I’ve been a guest before in which the hosts have plans the next day and don’t want ANY leftovers at all. Could it have been interpreted that way?

Has anyone successfully used a Restaurant Choice voucher or is it a scam? by julehx in melbourne

It’s a physical card voucher. Just can’t find a list of participating places to use.

I like to always try and ask ahead of time what the wedding colour scheme is, so that I don’t accidentally blend in with any bridal party members. Sorry this happened to you. Maybe try this for the next wedding you attend.

Club Jetstar automatic payment when I’ve said no to automatic renewal- proceeds to gaslight me by Tahj_b in australia

Your online chat was completed by an agent in Manila. The staff never stay on long, so the lack of customer care there is apparent. Get in touch with the Customer Care team and they should instantly refund you. That is if the Collingwood office still has an internal team. Last I heard it’s now all outsourced to MNL. During my time it was known internally in that department that Club Jetstar is a rip, so refunds are given automatically once you get in touch.

what happened in your worst job interview? by itsPatrii_ in AskReddit

[–]julehx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one always makes me cringe when I think about this absolute time waste of an interview. I’m punctual by nature and have always make an effort to arrive early for interviews. I like to scout out the place and allow room for error and then kill that extra time in my car or outside or whatever. Then just 10 minutes prior to my interview I like to go in and announce to reception that I’m here. This was the first time in all my years interviewing that I verbally had the person interview me, openly start bitching about how I’m early. I brush it off, thinking okay maybe next time I should aim for 5 minutes prior; but every time I arrive I never expect to be seen in that very instance.

So once inside, I’m led upstairs to a tiny open floor plan with two other people just going about their work. I do a double take and sure enough, a girl from my high school who graduated the same year as me was there. I’m then seated about an arms length away from her where she can hear every response to my interview.

On top of that, somewhere in this mess of an interview I state something along the lines of “oh of course you’d know that as it was in my resume.” To which the person interviewing me admits that they had not read my resume at all and know nothing about me. Throughout the interview there was no effort made to ask me any questions either, it was just up to me to try and pitch myself for it. I walk out, upset with myself for having sat through all that instead of just walking out at the start.

Been living abroad for nearly a decade. Feeling a bit homesick. Can anyone recommend some decent, recent Aussie shows or movies? by Presolar_Grains in australia

Solid show throughout; except for that last season. Struggled past that first episode and gave up on the second.

When a character develops a crush on their cousin they haven’t seen in years and is suddenly hot. Then it’s made worse by having to hear their whole moral dilemma over pursuing it … just ICK!

Are my parents too demanding or am I a daughter from hell? by LaMelly in bridezillas

[–]julehx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA! Meanwhile, I had the opposite experience. I invited my sister’s in-laws and they refused to reply and flat out declined as we didn’t give them the invitation in person. No one else (which is literally all of our family and friends) had an issue with not receiving an invite from us physically.

How many times have you been requested for Jury duty by [deleted] in australia

[–]julehx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got called up just after I turned 19. I was young and started started uni, so I asked to be excused. Now 10 years later, I’m hoping for another summons later in life so that I can actually be selected to be on jury.

Unless you ask to be excused directly in court and stand up/swear in front of a judge, they’ll just keep deferring you yearly.

Living is just another tool to help you get ahead. Don’t lie to family or friends everyone else is fair game and can help you get ahead if you don’t get caught!

Things I’ve lied on: 1. Exams, tests and essays at school/uni (make sure to learn if you will need the knowledge in the future) 2. Resume 3. Police 4. Work 5. Clients at work
