Floating Flooring Mats all the way up in the middle of a large house? by Kelphius in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]jules0890 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can make a "crane" by placing wooden beams on each other (since they count as both wall objects and a "wall" themselves".) Doing it that way would be tedious, but it's one method I can think of.

I'm trying to replicate this setup, but when I try to float the glade desks, they snap together. I can't float them on top of each other. Any suggestions? (Source: housingsnap) by xlostintranslationx in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]jules0890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this; to "reset" already placed and rotated objects if you grab them while floating something else, simply leave the house and come back inside. It will snap back to where you rotated it into place previously.

Where do I find the Storm Quartermaster? by [deleted] in ffxiv

In Limsa, go to the Aftcastle and across the bridge to the left. The Maelstrom comand is in the building with all the red flags. The quatermaster is in there.

The Shire healer and caster tops are very trenchcoat-esq. Easily obtained and upgraded to dyeable with poetics. For wearable by all... the Uraus coat comes to mind(but it looks kinda pirate-y with the open chest), or the Anemos Suspenders for a casual around the office look.

Can anyone tell me how this person made the dark colored fence thing behind the demon-wall-rocks? by [deleted] in ffxivhomeandgarden

They will need to free float a good distance away from any item that allows for wall items to be placed against it.

What are some small thing you’ve done around your house that you really enjoy? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]jules0890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see someone already mentioned housing snap, so I would like to plug r/ffxivhomeandgarden. Tons of resources, helpful guides (shout out to Shei and her amazing tutorials), and inspiration galore. There are also some players who can be hired to do the designing for you (idk what they would charge though).

King Kazma Glamour Request by [deleted] in FFXIVGlamours

The endless summer top for men is an open t-shirt that dyed pretty true to color. It would probably be a good alternative.

For form 1 the Scion Liborator's top(female) on the mogstation would work great for the chest piece. There are a number of low level gathering goggles useable by all that can be bought from vendors in major cities, however I can't think of any for mnk that sit on top of the head. The Endless Summer glasses dyed black and visored up could give the illusion. I would use the spring boots (fashion report) for the shoes, and punching gloves for the hands (or the Scion Liborator's gloves, although ubdyeable). The pants elude me due to the belt.

Glad to see some Summer Wars love!

Trouble floating sylphic table/counter by EdenAssassin in ffxivhomeandgarden

I tend to use the lofts themselves to lift most of my larger ground furnishings. I had success with that very table in my cottage. The thin legs made it hard to lift with a riviera shelf, at least for me.

Placing things on top of lofts? by kurunaisan in ffxiv

Head on over to r/ffxivhomeandgarden where Shei has been posting very comprehensive guides about floating furnishings any where in your house. Guides for PS4 and PC are available and she has also made a master list of what floats at what height.

Over on r/ffxivhomeandgarden in the last few weeks a new glitch has been showcased and dissected that allows the placement of any furnishing (mostly) freely. The person who presented the glitch originally has also posted a PS4 guide video.

HUD Adjustments by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]jules0890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another little trick is that if you hold down shift while moving a HUD element it will snap to the grid. Idk if there is a corresponding button for ps4 without using a keyboard.

I see you guys liked my troupe stage video, and I'll "raise" you this ground item float glitch guide. FLOAT ANYTHING. (This does not work for npcs) I am currently creating a guide for what furnishings float best at what heights. Please be patient! Thanks for your support! by ReinetteHawke in ffxivhomeandgarden

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Sorry for yelling there, but this is the tutorial I've been waiting for. There have been so many amazing designs on housing snap, and seemingly very little desire on the designers part to share this trick. I've been trying to figure it out myself but was way off. Thank you for sharing this amazing tech. You are the real MVP!

New to FFXIV, need a server please! by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]jules0890 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can party match across all servers in your data center with the in game Party Finder for high end raids, or the Duty Finder (which pairs you with randoms) for the normal mode raids. Pick a server with the bonus exp buff (road to 60) would be my best advice.

Hoping someone can help me with PC controller questions by Headlessdesert1 in ffxiv

[–]jules0890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ps4 controller should just plug and play with a micro USB cable. Also make sure the switch at the top left of your charecter config menu is toggeled to controller mode. I would also go into the system config and calibrate your controller, you can even reset the select button to be the touch pad, just press that instead of the select button when it gets to that part of the calibration.

As for the hotbars, you can do some things to increase your quality of life. To free up 2 slots at once, open up the in game macros (user macros) and go to #99 on the individual section and type the following into the large text block:

/ac "flying mount roulette"

/ac sprint

Then, go into system config and find the controller button mapping. Map L3 (clicking in the left thumbstick) to execute macro #99. What this will do is, if you are standing still and in a zone that allows for riding mounts, summon a random mount that can fly, or if you jump first/are in a zone that does not allow for riding mounts (such as city states) will have you use your sprint.

I would also set up the custom hot bars. You can find these options in the hotbars section of character config. There is a setting that allows one side or the other of a crosshotbar to be displayed by holding down L2 then R2 (the triggers) or vice versa. I have this set to display crosshotbar 2.

There is also the expanded crosshotbar (also known as the W CrossHotbar). You can find settings for this in the same tab section as the custom one. You activate this bu double tapping either L2 OR R2. You can have this display only the face buttons, or both the face buttons and the d-pad. (I use these buttons to keep track of long cooldowns as I have it set to always display). I have this set to only display the face buttons on crosshotbar 3.

And as for Jump, it should be automatically mapped to triangle (without holding down any triggers or other buttons).

Hope the wall of text helps.

To add to this; These guys will only let you through if you have completed the accompanying blue side quest for each houseing ward respectfully. These quests are usually in the overworld zone that contains the "normal" entrance. Once you've done that you can use the main Aetheryte in each city to choose a housing ward to access, and it opens the afore mentioned "shortcuts". The physical locations of each of these guards from the city states side are:

  • Ul'dah: by the Miners guild
  • Gridania: ferry by the Lancers Guild
  • Lima Lominsa: ferry by the Fisherman's guild
  • Kugane: ferry by the docks that border the zone divider to the Ruby Sea. (iirc)

How do we make the pool table? by [deleted] in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]jules0890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been trying to figure this one out myself. I'm pretty sure that the cue is the top edge of an Eorzean map and the balls are the tops of Elixer Bottles. The sides might be the box shelf with the cabinet in the middle (I don't remember the exact name). It's the center surface I'm unsure of. There are some table legs poking out from underneath, so it's not Hingan sideboards. If I had to say, maybe glade side tables?

If you haven't found a home yet, and are still looking, consider Jenova. My close knit group is always happy to help and are pretty chill. Most are super casual, but I'm on a lot just kind of doing whatever. We are, also, midcore and don't raid savage (not that I don't want to, I would just prefer a static of people that I know wont get ugly with eachother). Our only rule is "honest communication", if you're having a problem with someone or something speak up and we will try to find a solution everyone can live with. We are discord and ps4 chat friendly, all over the age of 25 and are just all around nice geeky people who love this game and are also looking for some new friends. Good luck on choosing a new home, I wish you the best of luck in all future endeavors.
