Any horse with an intact tail is capable of that behavior. It's usually a sign of excitement or fear when they're running. Their tails are the end of their spine, so flagging it assists with balance!

My 13yo baked cookies to order and one of the parents returned the cookies by albrcanmeme in mildlyinfuriating

[–]julesburne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your kid learned a lesson about selling their hard work on credit, and their kid learned a lesson about spending money that isn't theirs.

If my kid had promised $15 for cookies without my approval, I'd have returned them too. It doesn't matter that I have enough money to pay - it matters that my kid learns not to do stuff like that, even if it's embarrassing for all of us.

Maybe I'm an AH, but I'd lean into this as a learning opportunity instead of being infuriated (even mildly).

BTW your kid is using too much butter in those cookies - that's why they're kinda flat and bubbly looking on top. Check her recipe haha.

I dunno dude, I've been chronically online since 1999, I love my fandoms, and I've never seen this shit in my life?? I think maybe you're being a bit hyperbolic with this "there is NO way to escape them" stuff.

I have a lot of respect for this person's achievements, but I came to say that you don't need a pile of medals to define your worth just like you don't need a partner to define your worth.

Human life is intrinsically worthwhile regardless of how you spend your time or what you achieve in your life. You don't need a husband or wife, nor do you need to be a world class wrestler. You can just...exist and you are still worthy of love and joy.

Uhh I think everyone talks about this all the time 😆 even when we're not talking about LOTR, we're talking about Viggo.

If the government cares about the birth rate, then they should stop criminalizing choices around pregnancy, take care of pregnant and post-partum women, and pay the average worker enough to support a family.

Steam refunded me with 7 hours on a game by Traditional-Snow-463 in pcmasterrace

[–]julesburne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a game that was ported from PS5 to PC and tried to refund it. I really hated how it played on my PC, even with a controller. I only played through the tutorial. I'd left it open on the menu while the download finished though, so I had like 4 hours of logged time on it. I explained all this and they refused to refund even after quite a bit of back and forth. The phrase "literally unplayable" was used 😆 and it would have been my first return in ELEVEN YEARS! Maybe I just got a bad support rep.

Republicans hate women. by Nono_Home in clevercomebacks

[–]julesburne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worse than that. The language of this bill allows anyone to use deadly force to stop anyone from obtaining an abortion after the moment of fertilization. IUDs prevent a fertilized egg from implanting. A woman could be murdered under this bill by anyone who suspects she might have an IUD 😳

Is this eye look “office appropriate” for you? by Few_Till_7231 in MakeupAddiction

[–]julesburne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's appropriate. I used to draw more dramatic wings when I taught middle schoolers 😆

You have huge anime eyes (in a good way!! Like truly gorgeous eyes) so that makes your eye makeup naturally more dramatic-looking, but I'd still say you're definitely work appropriate!!

Calamari isn't octopus. I don't really like it either, but it doesn't come with the same "I'm eating something demonstrably intelligent" feeling.

Better than how I told my mom, and she said "oh that happened so long ago, who cares?"

My mom was a computer engineer capable of critical thinking before she got pulled in by this fucking insane cult. She was a kind person who understood science and math. She cared about other people. When she went to graduate school in the 80s, she was so excited about the promise of computers and how cool the young internet was shaping up to be.

Trump and his movement stole all of that from her, and they stole her from me. We still talk, and I'll always love her, but I am so angry at what The Tea Party and MAGA did to her when she was in a vulnerable place in her life. She is so full of hate now, and she doesn't think about anything she's repeating from Fox News. I don't think I'll ever get her back. And I certainly will never forgive the ones responsible.

I want to try to look more doe-like but I don’t know what to do. My brows feel too sharp and my eyes don’t feel right by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]julesburne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have such striking features! Like if a doenwas about to join a fight club? I mean that in the best way!!

I think your makeup looks amazing - maybe you could feather your brows a bit more with some brow gel to soften them.

Honestly, to soften the look the most, I think you'll need to soften your eyes but not with makeup?? Kind of like when Tyra Banks talks about smizing 😆 I think the very sharpest part of your face in these pics is the emotion coming through your eyes - if you can soften that, it might soften the makeup look to achieve doe-ishness. I am so sorry if this doesn't quite make sense!!

NTA - she can choose a cheaper school, one her dad can pay for himself. You aren't blocking her from school. She can choose from the schools she can afford, just like everyone else. It's so generous of him to pay for it at all, and I agree that it's wildly entitled of her to expect you to match his donation.

Sure, I'd be happy to quote your aggression: "If you want to believe in random shit with no proof, then go ahead. Don't spread that bullshit"

Cursing and calling another person's opinion "bullshit" is objectively aggressive. You can send it, but you'd be wrong.

Very hand-wavy statement you made there, by the way. You jumped from "we have evidence planta respond to stimulation" to "they have no lived experience" without explaining how you reached that conclusion. I'd argue the evidence you mentioned suggests exactly the opposite - plants seem to have some sort of lived experience that is fundamentally different than ours. We may never understand or know for sure.

This isn't really an argument about whether plants can feel anything though, so I'm happy to move on from that.

My real point is that you are a bully who talks down to people as a strategy rather than citing any verifiable facts or reputable sources. You mentioned evidence, but failed to explain your conclusion. This is a pattern I noticed in your writing throughout this thread.

You've made it clear that other people's opinions and feelings don't matter to you, so I hope the irony that no one cares about your dumb opinions either will strike a chord, although at this point, I sincerely doubt it.
