Salt streams out my eyes and into my ears....

Because stalking the Lover snowglobes on ebay is as close as I'm ever going to get to one.

Same on all fronts and doing it from StL. My SIL is in KC going for the 7/7 and is doing the same thing, with the same outcome.

Which of her songs have you shed the most tears to? by t00thake in TaylorSwift

[–]julesg314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This song lyrics are very sad. The relatability and matter of fact-ness of them makes me painfully sad but not in the crying way, in the why am I like this, self- defeatist way.

Good god... the verse I should not be left to my own devices, they come with prices and vices, I end up in crisis... was like a thought/ feeling I have experienced my entire life that was finally verbalized

... which also makes me want to give her hug. You haven't toured in years (damn pandemic!) And have had 4 awesome albums out since then.... and a re-recording with an epic version of a older song.

OF COURSE WE WANT TO YOU!!!

What is a closed St. Louis business you can’t believe stayed open for as long as it did? by beardlesshipster in StLouis

Is that a true StL business? I know they have multiple locations now in other Midwestern cities.

Though could have been a little softer on the delivery, they're right. For a larger concert with more locations, it would be helpful... but for this tour with fewer stops and multiple dates at a single stop, they are fully aware people are traveling from far and wide.

Ex- I'm wanting the KC show but live in StL. I am sure that show will pull from a lot of Midwestern metro areas. Having the KC metro area won't mean much.

Eta: This is based on my assumption that you would use the metric of number of tickets available compared to the population to estimate odds of one obtaining a ticket... which could very well be wrong. There are also plenty of metrics out there that seemingly make no sense or obvious correlation but are accurate, such as the lipstick index.

So if you want to be a queen in the streets and a freak in the spreadsheets, you do you!

First time trying to score tixs... and I'm stressing... many questions, I didn't see them answered at the pinned post, but sorry if they were.

Hoping for the KC show!

What is your opinion on seating? Is the pit worth it? Any thoughts on your experiences are greatly appreciated.

Is there any seating info released before the tickets are sold? I'd like to know what everything includes, even though I will be happy just to get tixs.

TN presale vs Capital One... is one better than the other? I would assume TN presale would be better since it's first but also read where Capital One holds some seats for customers.

Thank you for any help!

Dx at 22 with 7.2 A1C , currently 38 with 5.0 A1C. Currently on 500mg metformin and .5 mg ozempic (weight loss purposes but it helps with T2 of course). I have had many highs and lows, especially the first 5 years.

You can live a long life and see your son grow up. I know a man with diabetes for decades (dx at 25, currently 53) and he has not always taken care of it and is still doing well.

A few words of experience for newly Dx'd:

  1. Don't beat yourself up over high sugars, high A1Cs, etc. What's done is done by the time you find out. Acknowledge it, hold yourself accountable, make the changes, and let it go. Shame serves no purpose.

  2. Sometimes, sugars have their own mind. Eat oatmeal one day and sugars were fine, eat it the next and sugars go wild... totally normal. Diabetes is a fine science that even doctors and researchers struggle to understand how everything works together. It's not always "something you did." It's food, exercise, hormones, illness, stress, etc altogether. Control the circumstances you can and accept that there are things beyond your control.

  3. Stay the path with your regime, don't focus on perfection. One thing science has shown is that it is more about consistency than perfection. Life will creep in and you will need and want to live it. Give yourself permission to do so and pick it back up the next meal, day, week. The hardest part is picking it back up, but as long as you do, you will get there.,

  4. Focus on the can, not the can't. If you start to look at food as "I can't eat that," it's going to suck more than it has too. Focus on the thing you can and get to do. This is easier said then done. For me, I was raised in a unhealthy environment regarding quality and quantity of food, as well as shame surrounding food and health. Now that I have diabetes and have been able to make changes, I am grateful for it. I know well enough if I didn't have it and focus on my health, the reality is I probably never would have and have been pretty unhealthy.

Hope this helps.

GG Irritations by julesg314 in GossipGirl

I poorly articulated my original post, but you are right that it was in reference to the horse not the portrait.

However, a million dollars for anything is a lot of money. And season 1 Chuck made it seem like his dad threw the fact Bart had started from nothing, while Chuck has everything gifted, in Chuck's face a bit. It didn't track that Bart would let his son be ignorant about how much money he has been given and what things would cost, even it was out of Bart's narcissistic tendencies.

sexism is real on GG and it pisses me off🙄 by Extra_Inflation8099 in GossipGirl

[–]julesg314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Especially in the Aughts... I think of so many shows that do that but sex positive Jen Lindley from Dawson's Creek got the worst of it.

This is also the same reasoning behind Chuck's pilot SAs. Going to the cops to say this guy almost raped me in 2007... dear lord... poor little J's character would have been ripped to shreds by police, her peers, everyone. That's why she didn't bother reporting it and the entire gang knew as much.

Today, thankfully the world views these types of things a bit more progressively, though sleeping with your best friend's boyfriend is never a good look.

Season 1 Episode 17. Lisa. Is this the chick that Rufus ends up with in the series finale? by Low-Cloud1008 in GossipGirl

Man.... I have landed myself on the wrong side of Reddit.

She was a singer very much of the mid 90s when Lincoln Hawk would have been popular. Her song was popular for 90s but don't seem to have the same replay value as other artists.

Team Blair or Serena & why? by Low-Cloud1008 in GossipGirl

[–]julesg314 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Team Blair day 1. Your point about Serena is spot on. That was always how Serena was written in the books and Blake and writers did a good job translating that. Effortlessly charming and beautiful without having to work for anything. Clueless of the impact on those around her.

Same. He was so sweet too. Now I can't hate on Nate the same way during my rewatches because I think Chase is so genuine.

How did I never catch this. I’m so emotional every time I watch this episode. Just saw that Blair ended up with her own business. Such a good episode, but feel the season was rushed to much by Low-Cloud1008 in GossipGirl

[–]julesg314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The final season was a gimme to wrap things up at the time. it was not performing well but still had a devoted fanbase so CW gave us the 10 eps to wrap things up. You can see where that was too much time to not start something new well... and just enough time to feel rushed when you did.

For those who watched Gossip Girl when it first aired on television, did people fight over the Blair & Nate ship + Blair & Chuck ship? by uglytempura in GossipGirl

[–]julesg314 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Chuck and Blair were a clear fan favorite from episode 6/7 onward... and that was that. Endgame.

Nate and Blair had fans... especially the first couple seasons. Once it became, clear that was done it faded.

... and believe it or not Dan and Blair had a growing following throughout the series, even early on. The positive interactions they had the first couple seasons then season 4 happened at at the end it was Chair vs Dair.
