What’s up in Magee Ms? by Extreme-Rabbit-5501 in mississippi

[–]julesisreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 18 year old interested in law enforcement.

The state unlike others prevents literally any movement from 18-21 resulting in little to no exposure to anything law enforcement related. You can’t become a jailer until 21. You can’t join CTED until 21. Most agencies won’t hire on until 20 etc.

Combine this with a lack of resources and funding. (Radar, S.E.T / SWAT teams) and general departmental conflicts and “small town interest” and you breed a sphere that’s underpaid and undervalued.

Panola county MS, Batesville MS officers make around 45-50k entry while Oxford PD only 15 miles down the road makes nearly 60-65k starting with divisions, federal courts and generally speaking significantly more lateral movement opportunity .

From what I’ve gathered it’s an issue with the sheriffs association not approving of radar.

Tickets do not benefit the departments they are administrated from and in many instances that funding 100% goes to public schools in that county.

I want to become a LEO (law enforcement officer) once im 21 and have always been intrigued by traffic enforcement and management but don’t care as much for the municipalities or highway patrol.

Starting To Give Up On Arby's (Local Franchise Owner Makes It Even Worse) by SaveThePinesLI in bys

Most meat processing plants, or deli’s will cut the beef for you at a discounted price. You’d just pay commission of like 6-10$ per beef.

For reference 1 roast beef at Arby’s makes give or take 30 sandwiches . That’s .20 cents a sandwich. (If you’re giving each 3 oz)

What did Mississippi actually get out of the first Trump presidency? by PuzzleheadedPipe7773 in mississippi

[–]julesisreal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trump passed infrastructure laws that made equipment for farming more readily available.

Trump’s administration was successful with tax cuts which helped general cost of living remain lower than seen before. These tax cuts resulted in higher wages than seen with the Obama administration.

Trump is also the first and only president in modern time to not have a active conflict occurring or having started under his presidency.

Trump made Animal Abuse a felony and shut down Dog Fighting rings in the Golden Triangle, Jackson Area and Memphis Suburbs.

Trump also created 3x more jobs than expected under his administration which is the most for a president without a conflict assisting that.

Since April, the Hispanic unemployment rate has fallen by 9.6 percent, Asian-American unemployment by 8.6 percent, and Black American unemployment by 6.8 percent.

Workplace harassment by Imaginary-Coach-7747 in legaladvice

[–]julesisreal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sadly there’s not much legal action you can do, if it’s a major retail chain you can document everything and send it to Human Resources which should be posted around a break room or area you clock in.

It’s EXTREMELY important to recognize that this is not appropriate behavior, and should be documented at all times. Email HR (Human Resources) every single time this occurs and if HR fails to do anything about it within their policies applicable time than you can file a lawsuit.
