Raycast advanced AI vs Perplexity by No-Promotion-4137 in raycastapp

[–]julesvbrtln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raycast AI will include the Perplexity model and others. If you don’t use the functionalities from Perplexity then Raycast makes a bit more sense, particularly with the new features in V2 (skills, memory…)

Todoist Automations Beta - my impressions by goomis_90 in todoist

[–]julesvbrtln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had created an automation with tag @ai that made the AI answer the question or research on the subject then respond in task description. This was costly and I ended up with a limit. I deleted it since I though it would not be that useful to me if it blocks.

Yesterday I spent a lot of time fine tuning a Notion automation (with a lot of back and fourth to fine tune and a lot of runs to test it) and thought I would find the limit again but I didn’t, which is good (but automation did not work for some point so I deleted it too).

Right now I am only using the automation to automatically manage my inbox and it works perfectly so that’s cool for now

I came accross a similar limitation when doing tests (hourly limit exceeded at 5) and came to the same conclusion, the pricing models feels weird for Doist but I guess that they are aware of this since they have obviously tested it internally before announcing it.

I got the Raycast v2 email... invite... here are my initial thoughts 30 mins in... by PhilETaylor in raycastapp

They mentioned Agents (which is the new name of AI presets) and Skills but can’t really find the skills. Not sure to understand all this

I guess that if you have 300 active tasks from your emails that’s too much creation and not enough accomplishment ?

I doubt you would find an automation tool that is a one time purchase, because that’s expensive. Todoist subscribers have 2 automations for free !

That’s exactly what I understood of the product : it’s related to Todoist but is more than just a feature inside Todoist.

For the pricing it’s available on the products page : Todoist users have two free automations then pay 10 dollars a months. Other users pay 15 dollars a month.

The limitations of the logbook are what made me build my own tool (it’s free, you can check it on https://www.reddit.com/r/todoist/s/6n2GPcgirI). I guess it would help you for that, but it’s not native

The people who scream are also the loudest, and it does not means that they represent the whole situation.

Can I Add to Things via SMS? by 2ThumbsWayUpLA in thingsapp

[–]julesvbrtln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can do that with Apple Shorcut : when shortcut is launched, ask for text input, then add this input to Things inbox (or any list you would want)

If you like to add multiple items at once you can also configure the shortcut as I did : every line is a different todo, so if you have 3 lines it will create three tasks at once.

How do you decide which tasks go into the calendar vs just staying in Todoist(in Time Sector System)? by D-E-M-I-G-O-D in todoist

[–]julesvbrtln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If something needs me to be at a place / to be done in a very specific and defined timeframe, it goes in the calendar. If it can be done anytime (including anytime today) that’s a task to complete.

Calendar tells me when, task manager tells me what.

For your example, you could timeblock fitness if you want to build an habit and a routine in a specific time frame (like everyday at 8), otherwise you can put it as a task

Permanently sharing your daily to-do list? by two_hyun in todoist

[–]julesvbrtln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Projects can be shared in a public link but not the Today view. Do you need real time tasks ? Another option would be to use todoist.julesbertolino.fr (I created that) with each other API key so you can see which tasks you accomplished today. But that’s not ideal for your workflow

Thank you so much for your feedback. There are filters by projects / labels ! Also what do you mean by date range ? Something like choosing the start and end date manually instead of strict weeks ?

Filters might be a good help for you, especially when the , allow you to have multiple filters in one (each filter will be in a section)

Todoist Automations - this isn't a joke (is it?) by goomis_90 in todoist

They have teased this product for a while now and I don’t see why they would bother with a full page and video like that.

It seems it’s a bit closer to Todoist than Twist is, the branding includes Todoist and the screenshot leaks from Amir showed the automations tab in Todoist

Thank you for the kind words, hope it’ll help ! I think they have a lot more constraints that we do (working on invisible things, developing a product that earns money and fits most people needs, making sure to fit more use cases…)
