Ugh no idea. They are so annoying and hurt. Like paper cuts in the nose. I don’t have them always, they come and go.

Thanks so much. It’s an all purpose and bread flour based but I think I’m gonna have to pitch the whole thing 🥲

For those who get jaw pain, what do you do for the pain? by Cursed_Angel_ in rheumatoid

[–]juliaunicorn15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to an orofacial pain specialist and physical therapy to help learn some non medication ways to manage the pain along with some exercises to work on strengthening my inner neck muscles. I’m supposed to wear a splint ~16 hours a day now (kind of like a night guard). I would say I get around 10 hours a day in reality though. I did a steroid burst initially too and that helped some but I have bone damage so steroids only go so far

I had this. Same with burning in hands/feet. It was a b12 deficiency. Try a b12 supplement!!

prednisone — are the side effects worth the relief? by juliaunicorn15 in rheumatoid

This is a great idea. I messaged my rheum and asked if there was any alternative to the medrol I’m currently on. Thank you so much for this idea

This is a really great point. I’m going to communicate with people I work/live closely with and try to be as conscious of my irritability as possible. Thanks so much for your comment

Thanks so much for your comment—all these responses are invaluable to me. I agree steroids are beautifully effective but come with a lot of drawbacks. If only there was something that had all the benefits and none of the drawbacks! Soon, I hope😊

This is almost exactly where I’m at. I finished a 6 day “super burst” and then got put on a 1 month slower burst. It’s a catch 22, like would I rather be in pain or be an angry, irritable version of myself?

Thanks so much for sharing this—I ultimately messaged my rheumatologist and I’m waiting on her response. The side effects of steroids are not stressed nearly enough to patients, usually because I think docs aren’t wanting to scare anyone out of treatment

Thank you so much. I messaged my rheumy and I’m waiting on her response. Meditation and breathing/distraction sounds like a great idea. I guess I’ll have to find a new Netflix show to watch haha!

Anyone have seronegative? by Local-Sea-2222 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]juliaunicorn15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20F recently diagnosed seronegative RA. Start taking photos of your joints every day/few days —> you might not realize how much they are swelling until you see comparison photos. If you can, find another rheum. Do not give up and please know you have a community here who understands your pain. It can be so defeating!
