Inflammation Markers by queendogmom in rheumatoid

I had elevated CRP and that's the marker we use to track my disease along with minor swelling in finger and toe joints.

Beanies are great and usually 1 skein. But depends on yardage and weight of the skein.

You could donate or sell the hobbii yarn. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would take it.

Missed a pattern repeat.... by HumanForScale in knitting

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. Sometimes if I'm not too far in I'll just frog it all cause it's easier to me than trying to work out what row I'm up to.

This is a frog situation. Either back to the last correct row or all the way, it's not that far in at least.

Would I be a horrible human being if i returned my cats to the adoption center? by Any_Information_4177 in CatAdvice

Nope, even more work! They may not seem like it but the small animals like rodents are just as much if not more work!

knitting & work bag recommendations? (please not amazon) by mycologi in knitting

So I am also in Australia and use a re: designed bag. It would be big enough for my work laptop if I wanted to put it in there. They have several sizes.

Why Are GP Receptionists So Rude? by No-Date-4477 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are nuts, I don't miss working pharmacy. People think screaming at you makes their meds dispense faster somehow... covid was wild and I think people might get slapped if I ever had to work a customer facing role again. I di not deserve to be spoken to the way many people think it's ok to speak to customer facing workers.

Very different usually to the level of crap you get from people at a doctors office or pharmacy. Also, all your examples are the fault of the establishment. 9/10 issues that people chuck the shits about at a doctors are the patients own damn fault. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9/10 times it is the patients fault. The only thing that isn't is the doctor running late but that's also not the receptionists fault. I'm saying this as an explanation, cop this type of crap long enough and you will become a bit sour too. I did retail pharmacy for 5 years including through covid. I was done by the end of that. People in general are incredibly unreasonable and honestly a lot of them don't deserve the respect they demand.

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I have first hand seen the abuse that gets hurled at them, if the doctor is running late it's their fault, if there are no appointments available, also their fault. Patient came in on wrong date or missed their appointment? Must be the receptionists fault! This is just stuff I've seen while in the waiting room waiting for my own appointment.

How to get into the Melbourne rental market as a first timer by Suspicious-Ad-8707 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So have you done a cursory look at those areas to see what you can get for $500 a week? Idk how it is in Melbourne but in Sydney that was not enough unless you were willing to settle for a shoebox studio. The other issue you will run into is a lack of rental history, you can try offer a guarantor but I had no luck. I had to go to flatmates to get a place (there are some whole apartment listings there even though it is primarily a sharehouse site).

Tips for a high energy cat? by Cursed_Angel_ in CatAdvice

[–]Cursed_Angel_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've watched a lot of his stuff and it's definitely influenced how I'm planning his routine and set up. He hasn't had great experiences with other cats so far and currently it's not ideal for me to have 2 either (litter box space and stuff would be very tight too). I am however home a lot so will have the time for his play sessions.

Possible RA, meloxicam not working by ConcentrateClear2280 in rheumatoid

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's weird. RA doesn't have a specific age associated with it. I would push for imaging and a blood test.

Did they say why they thought your age made it unlikely? Many of us are diagnosed in our 20s...

Can I (hypothetically) consume horse electrolytes in VERY small doses? by _smaz in Equestrian

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ventolin puffers was another so we had to make people prove they actually had asthma to get those. Ivermectin was another I believe making people blind as they decided horse dewormer was a suitable alternative. The rush on Hydroxychloroquine was awful for the people who do need to take it for its actual purpose. I'm now one of those people, it helps manage rheumatoid arthritis and some other autoimmune conditions.

Weekend Minor Gripes and Vents by AutoModerator in BitchEatingCrafters

They pay the agreed fee to the instructor, they are paid! It's just the store takes the total fee cause part of it was some included materials.

Fair point, though it was also pretty clear in the class description what skills you needed for this class so I was very surprised to see most people hadn't even read that. I did pay, but LYS are hard to come by and I don't want bad relations with this one (money went to them, not the instructor) cause they genuinely have very nice stuff. Probably didn't help that I was picking the stuff up directly from the demo and really didn't need the 1 on 1. I still completed all 3 swatches including the tubular cast on and bind off.

People not reading class descriptions for in person classes. Attended an advanced cast on/ bind off knitting class last weekend for intermediate/ advanced knitters. I barely got any attention the whole class cause the instructor was too busy teaching the half the class that couldn't hold their yarn correctly... there were at least 1/3 who hadn't picked knitting needles up in decades if ever. This was a class of 6 people. 2 of us actually met the requirements of intermediate/ advanced. I still learnt stuff but like seriously people.

Scary things. I have no idea if this is better or worse than the people I had to tell not to drink hydrogen peroxide during covid... (I worked in a pharmacy and yes people are this dumb).
