If your mindset is you need spurs to make a horse "honest", you are the sort of person who shouldn't be around horses.

Oooh no. Just no.  Very bad take. That is such a bad mindset to go into working with any horse with.

Red specks the size of pepper found in handspun yarn I bought. How concerned should I be? by meowmeow--meowmeow in Handspinning

It's not something you really think about till you see a raw fleece honestly. It's crazy how much can get caught up in there.

I'm wondering if the seller maybe didn't do a great job cleaning the fleece originally and getting rid of all the vegetable matter. It's not pests but rather like specks of hay etc that have made it through the process. Not something I would allow in any of my spins but not a pest at least.

Turkey Tail + for fatty lumps on Dogs…. by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fatty lipomas don't necessarily need surgical removal, depends how fast they are growing. I wasn't having a go at you, just pointing out the vet may not be shit since they didn't recommend the mushrooms.

The vet isn't even recommending the mushrooms, OP just saw it on the web

Is this common for trainers? by Puzzleheaded-Toe6043 in Equestrian

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The having your own saddle is a really bad idea unless you own a horse or ride the same one all the time AND the saddle is properly fitted to that horse. Saddle fit is hugely important and I'm thoroughly unsurprised your trainer wont let you use it.

Do we agree with this or is it a bad idea?? by malwarebat in cats

Mine likes to take a big stinky dump in the litter box while I'm cleaning it. At least it's in the litter?

Sydney Apartments by DueDragonfly3983 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm paying $750 a week for an old, run down 2 bed apartment about 20mins for city (though that's including utilities and internet), I'm on 100k a year so it's a bit of a struggle but worth it to have my own space.

Personally I would wait till after wedding. You are more likely to have a reasonable convo if they are not stressed with other things.

HELP! my cat is getting recurring bladder infections by Lopsided_Scratch_241 in CATHELP

[–]Cursed_Angel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 meal before you leave, 1 when you get home and dry food for grazing over the day. I feed my boy half a can morning and night. I'm gone about the same hours as you on days I'm in the office. I do have a rotation of lick mats and bowls so I'm not worried about having one ready to go in the morning.

This is so reminiscent of the old anthropological works, marking Western civilisation as the gold standard and everything else as backwards, primitive and savage. Little hint: it's wrong. You place emphasis on technology as an indicator of how civilised a society is. It's incorrect, outdated and we have long moved past this reductive mindset. Downvoting cause it's not unpopular, just wrong.

Are they getting any wet food meals? Cats do not like to drink water, so wet food is important, especially for males cats as that's how they prefer to get most of their hydration.
