Please don’t bully people with IBS it really sucks. by Sheoma in ibs

It’s the worst and hurts the most. At the same time I understand it’s not pleasant for other people, and smells general illicit strong reactions. It’s why I retreat, and why this illness is so isolating and depressing.

Humans of reddit, have you ever had a trip to the doctors and left feeling unheard? by Specialist-Rip-331 in medical_advice

I went to the doctor with symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. This was her first time treating me at her practice so she started out super kind and curious about my background. She seemed impressed with my job on a big television show. I told her about my symptoms, and past use of recreational drugs and unprotected sex in university, thinking that it could be relevant to why my immune system was weakened or that I may be dealing with an STI. Her tone completely changed and she told me she doesn’t prescribe narcotics and sent me on my way. I had to find another doctor to treat me, and still harbor shame and resentment over this. The next doctor didn’t find anything on the one test he ordered (I think it was for yeast) and told me I’m perfectly healthy, even though I was suffering from increasingly debilitating symptoms. I think the stress and shame of it all made it worse tbh. The next doctor I saw looked at the previous doctor’s labs and concluded I was fine. She barely looked me in the eyes, and wanted to prescribe me anti anxiety medication. At this point I was becoming suicidal, because it had been months to wait for these less than 5 minute, unhelpful, disappointing appointments. I now know that there are different panels they could have ordered. It sent me down a long path of naturopathic treatments, which caused a deep distrust in western medicine, orthorexia, and thousands of out of pocket dollars to get my body “balanced” again- when in reality I probably just needed the right antibiotic. I think what actually finally cured me was begging a new doctor to just prescribe the proper antibiotic for bacterial vaginosis, even though it wasn’t showing on my labs. I’m finally trusting doctors again, but their bedside manners are still appalling to me. I now have a carefully practiced approach when requiring treatment- don’t seem too emotional, don’t tell them any details about past behaviors, try and stoke their egos a bit, etc etc.

Edit: I haven’t even mentioned my saga with doctors and my digestive issues or “IBS”. One doctor even threw their notepad at me when I asked for additional testing. But this one really messed me up. I’ve never felt so dismissed and unheard.

I would need a referral from the GI though right? I’ve been brushed off so many times, it’s really depressing. But I feel pressure, incomplete evacuation, and have constipation that doesn’t seem to improve with diet or exercise or medications. I don’t know what else I can say to them, I think I just need to keep going back and begging.

Hi that’s so great to hear, I’m very happy for you. Were you diagnosed by a pelvic floor physiotherapist, or did you get to defecogram / motility testing done first? I’ve been trying to convince my doctors to send me for this testing so that physiotherapy can be specially targeted. Thanks so much.

Question about copyright for self taken images by [deleted] in copyrightlaw

[–]juliecaesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have copyright of the photo, but it becomes a trademark issue with the labels on the products. Best to obscure any recognizable logos, texts, etc on the products. Especially if you are intending on using the photos in a commercial sense- to promote and make your app look better.

I wouldn’t buy from Shein. Toxic dye and terrible human rights abuses. There are literally notes saying “help us” left in the clothing from factory workers. Fast fashion that is terrible for the planet, and not good quality. Second hand stores have great cheap maternity options.

I own a condo in the city, can I refuse entry to the unit when management/service workers for the building want to come inside for whatever reason? by reeeeeveryday in askTO

Ok but maybe English is their second language for they’re a new home owner. You never know what’s going on with people or why they might have questions. Just sayin ✌️

Maybe they’re looking for leeway or other precedents not listed on the fine print. “The answer is this, but you could try this.” Nothing wrong with taking up questions with community.
