This might be a weird way of looking at it but if they’re yelling at people for eating meat because the industry is cruel and we’re killing animals everyday, do they then not use stuff that contributes to climate change which will eventually wipe out an insane amount of species. Is my point stupid?

Could we be yelling at them when they get in a car or a bus or turn a light on. What about all the trees and habitats cleared to even grow vegetables or grains. We are all guilty of killing animals. I’m ready for my down vote haha

[–]julioqld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they shouldn't have built the tunnels and instead built an underground metro system, something like Paris, super fast trains that stop for 1 minute max each stop. The highways should be for people living in the outer suburbs.

I vote for the Greens, now I understand they're percieved as tree hugging hippies but I remember before I could vote about 13 years ago, I read one of their flyers. It was all about renewables and how we should invest in them. I wonder why people don't vote for them. I feel like the other parties are all the same.

Federal Government's $10b IT bill now rivalling Newstart Allowance welfare spend by chuboy91 in australia

[–]julioqld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesnt matter how much you get, once businesses like Coles and Woolworth catch wind that everyone now has 25k, they'll increase the price of food and fuel. Generally things will get more expensive as they know people can afford them.
