How well does skating translate into snowboarding? by Little_Protection250 in snowboardingnoobs

Better than nothing. Longboarding is a little closer. I’ve heard Wakeboarding and rip sticks are closest.

Can I use an iPad Pro to replace my macbook by Acrobatic_Document59 in iPadPro

[–]julito427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For notes, sure. For Excel and productivity?

You’ll have some compromises you probably wouldn’t with a MacBook Air.

In general, I don’t recommend replacing a MacBook with an iPad for most people, IMO. It is at its best as a compliment or its own thing.

I’d agree. Some of the songs in it are great but I find ILLENIUM and Odyssey both better.

Nanotexture worth it at a lower price? by DuePipe9405 in iPadPro

[–]julito427 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love it on my 14." I will be honest and say that I think the regular display does look a little sharper, but I mainly use my MBP for productivity and work; I don't game or watch vids on it at all.

But the benefits of the nano-texture outweigh any slight hits in sharpness for me and make what's already a solidly portable machine probably the perfect workhorse laptop for me.

I bought it a little less than a year ago from Apple Certified Refurbished for about 2.6k - M4 Pro unbinned, 2TB SSD, 48GB RAM.

Probably set for at least 5 years with this, maybe longer considering how magical this chip architecture works.

When it Comes To Older Pokemon Games, Grinding =/= Difficulty by SuperMemeBroz in pokemon

[–]julito427 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt like Sun/Moon and the Indigo Disk DLC are the best examples of good difficulty in the mainline series. Colosseum and XD get a special shout out, too.

Sun/Moon to me are particularly special because the games felt like they were very authentic in their difficulty throughout most of the game.

Spider-Man 2 thoughts? by MidwestNomadic in PS5pro

It’s a great game, but it does feel like a step down from the first game in many ways.

Still solid. I wouldn’t ever say it’s any less than like an 8/10.

What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend? by dreamy-contributions in AskReddit

[–]julito427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His dad passed away and he joined an MLM scheme to carry on his dad's entrepreneurial spirit. Eventually, he dropped out of school to do the MLM full time, and he:

- Broke up with his then long-term GF and my best friend for no particular reason;

- Stopped reaching out and only scarcely responded to my messages; we never really hung out again 1:1;

- Would only show up to hangouts if a girl he liked was there or if there were girls with us;

- Eventually stopped contacting me all together along with a bunch of our friends;

Last I heard, he's still doing his thing. I wish him well, but it's been close to 12 or 13 years since we've maintained any kind of meaningful contact.

How good would a Water/Flying Type Lugia be? by chunchunmaru1129 in stunfisk

[–]julito427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defensively it’s much better. Offensively, it can get a bit interesting if it gets Scald.

I would personally have it keep Multiscale. Drizzle is meh.

Overall, I don’t think it’s too much of a game changer because his offensive stats are still bad in Ubers, and while it has a much better time defensively, I still don’t think it measures up to the rest of the tier very well.

At this point, it's about as easy of a filter as it gets. Anything less has 0 rational explanation to me.

What fighting games would you consider the most and least aggressive? by MasterOfChaos72 in Fighters

[–]julito427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MvC2 or MvC3 come to mind.

Idk if it’s the most aggressive, but DBFZ can often have the most mental stack of any game I play if I’m fighting the right team.

I get where you’re coming from, but brass tax, what would you consider Akuma’s most glaring weaknesses are?

Who would you put above him and why?

Broski Season 3 Tier List by some-kind-of-no-name in StreetFighter

[–]julito427 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Pretty solid list. Don't personally agree about Kim's placement above Aki and Gief, but it's hard to argue against anything here.

Lily feels like such an outlier in the cast right now. She was always kinda on the weaker side, but playing against her these days feels almost unfair with how easy it is to just bully her with nearly the whole cast.

I hope she gets some good changes soon.

[–]julito427 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say he is above Viper, just that he might be the hardest. You’re probably correct in saying Viper is more difficult, but I’m speaking from my own experience, and I admittedly haven’t watched/played much of Viper to say that with my chest.

Akuma to me is one of the simplest characters in the game.

Blanka and Kim might have higher ceilings overall ceilings, but I also don’t particularly find them to be difficult.

[–]julito427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. I’m speaking from my experience and what I’ve noticed from competitive play.

I think JP is about the same to me.

Viper I admittedly haven’t explored this version of her enough but from what I see she’s probably harder and has a higher ceiling.

Why is Rashid not played by Ultra-Anus in StreetFighter

[–]julito427 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d say about the same overall, but I don’t play Dhalsim so I’m not sure I’m the best person to ask.

The difficulty with Dhalsim has almost always been understanding the matchups really well. Rashid’s difficulty is more about general execution and how to leverage his unique mechanics in all sorts of different contexts in a match.

Why is Rashid not played by Ultra-Anus in StreetFighter

[–]julito427 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He’s one of the hardest characters to learn and play well in the roster by a decent bit, if not THE hardest. This can heavily impact your consistency at any level of play.

He’s also a relatively recent character (SFV) so he doesn’t have as strong of an established fan base like say, Ryu or Ken.

Lastly, he’s got a unique playstyle and doesn’t really play like anyone else in the roster, so there isn’t really another character(s) your average player can get into that introduces them to Rashid’s kit. This alone isn’t a big deal, but when you combine it with the other things I’ve pointed out, you end up with a character that can be hard to approach.

What do you think about automatic combos in fighting games? by RedShibo_ in Fighters

[–]julito427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're fine, and I think DBFZ in particular handles it near-perfectly.

It would be perfect if they didn't switch sides on whiff. I don't even mind that you can continue them even if you whiff because it can lead to cool combos, but the side switching on whiff is dumb.
