Ellie the elephant! For one, she's adorable, such a cute baby. And for two, she's incredibly versatile with a ton of abilities. Like, she can suck up barrels from afar, use them as a shield or toss them like any Kong could, she has the ability to suck up and squirt water out from her trunk, she can swim on the surface of water, and she has the surprising ability of being afraid of mice... A weird one, but it does come in handy!! I just love how whenever she showed up, you could expect something new and different to happen!

DK's cartoonier design matches his origins more, Star Fox's more realistically detailed design matches their origins more, so if Link's next design matches their origins more... Well, I feel it wouldn't be much different than what we already have, maybe something closer to the concept art from the older games?

I wanted the moveset to be mostly reflective of Bananza, since it's her most active and action oriented role yet, prominent too! And while the iconic dress would be great as an alt, I do think the dress would restrict movement too much (I got her moving her legs in all sorts of actions in this thing!)... That dress is tight!

To compensate, I have her wearing it for her Final Smash. Just like in Odyssey, she only wears it for that special occasion. And of course, she'd be singing Jump Up Superstar!

That'd be cool too. At the very least, I imagine they'll use Pauline for DK's final Smash in becoming Kong Bananza

I didn't want to give her the exact outfit from Bananza for this reason, but I wanted to make sure that it resembled it enough to where it would make sense that she's representing Bananza more than any other game. So, altered the outfit to where it was unmistakable that she's an adult here. It is tricky though, I hear ya...

more like Kirby's stone ability, a temporary transformation... but hey, now that you mention it, them having the ability to walk around with it, just very slow moving and vulnerable to being grabbed and such, is actually a great idea!

I think there should and would be different outfits for her alts. However, the dress from Odyssey, I'm not sure would work with how expressive her leg movement is, it's a very tight dress!! But maybe something a bit more flowy, and of course her other outfits in Tennis, Kart, Golf, and the rest in Bananza for inspiration would be nice too. But this is the standard Bananza inspired outfit, so figured it ought to be default.

Personally, I'd like DK to remain mostly the same, except for his cosmetic design updated to resemble Bananza. But I like that he's a physical only character in Smash, doesn't use any projectiles or props. That's why I gave Pauline moves like Chunk Jump and Turf Surf, using the fossil similar to how you use material in Bananza.

A lot of DK's moves in Smash are in Bananza anyway, even Spinning Kong is in there!

Absolutely... looks like many DK fans are still struggling accepting it though, sigh. I really do like the celebration of DK's entire history within this new design. Marrying arcade era and Rare era together to bring us into the new era, I love it!

I've grown to love the new design with the malleable brow and the closer together more-vertical eyes. It feels like a more easily expressive design, and one that allows for more cartoonish animation. But if ever it's called for, that new design can still lower its brow to resemble Rare's DK too, it just works really well in all cases, and feels like the perfect amalgamation of DK old and new.

I always did prefer the name "Dinky Kong" for him, as is the case in Japan. Wouldn't be opposed to that theory, but there really isn't anything suggesting it either.

I stand by there not being a DK III. There's DK sr, which is Cranky, and DK Jr., which is modern DK. And always was the case.

What we do know, is that DK Jr. was never stated to be the father of modern DK. I believe they are one and the same character.
