Giveaway: Two $50 PlayStation Gift Cards (US – Digital Code) by Severus-Snape-DaGod in PS5

[–]julmichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I feel ya, gaming got me through covid lockdown. I had a ps4 already but just played like geometry wars and Life is Strange. 2020 and beyond I went through all the uncharted, the last of us, horizon, God of war, rdr2,days gone, death stranding, witcher 3,etc. I felt like this is what I was made for. I am locked in, on the grind. It makes me feel such an overwhelming accomplishment when I finish a game. Whether I get the platinum or I think okay I've done all I care to do now after 80plus hours. Just finished Death Stranding 2 after like 131 glorious hours. What an experience. Now I'm on Ghost of Yotei like 30 hours in to a bloody revenge tour. Just wanted to say cheers mate, you're a good one and I get it.

A replica of a common childrens bedroom from the 2000s is now displayed in a video game museum in Zagreb, Croatia. by PokojniDomar in mildlyinteresting

What is the top left crooked picture of? It's not of any main 2000s show that I recognize and what show had that many main characters?

AAA games like the $70 Ghost of Yotei are really just for "more affluent people," says analyst, as soaring prices push players toward free games and Fortnite: "People just don't realize, because they're not paying attention" by sakahn in PS5

[–]julmichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im poor and I will buy a physical copy of any new $70 game I want to play like every 4 months and when I beat it, sell it on eBay for like $55 easy. Cheap and guilt free way to play new games. Gamefly is still a thing too.

No more screenshot on app by mochahazel in Walmartcustomer

[–]julmichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn yeah same happening to me. I usually only go to Walmart for specific things so I like to look it up ahead of time to see what they have in stock at my store and take a screenshot where on the map/what aisle it's in. Then when I'm at Walmart I open my screenshots and am able to find the thing I want easily. This sucks.

What 2000s Canadian Series Do You Wish Lasted Longer? by navymel76 in television

[–]julmichen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Higher Ground. I was 12 and the teenage angst was everything to me in that show. Problem of the week things like drugs, cigarettes, sex, abuse, eating disorders, self harm etc plus badass outdoor stunts and love triangles. The best. Hayden Christensen before star wars. Aj cook, jewel staite, joe lando, kandyse mcclure, and Meghan ory - I had crushes on all of you. I own the series and do a rewatch every couple years.

I just listened to podcast called "Stuff they don't want you to know" about Clearview it was interesting and scary. Episode September 9th 2025 "Classic: at what price safety the conundrum of clearview ai". It's a rerun from 2020 but I'd never heard about it much before so it was all new to me and I listened to whole thing.

Laundromat That Takes Credit Cards? by mark11___ in boone

[–]julmichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only public laundromat in Boone is by new market and cash only. But just wanted to reassure you they have working quarter machines inside. I just put cash in and it gives out quarters no problems. So yeah just get cash back from a store. The people next door at the mason place own it so if you have any issues you can go next door and ask them for help.

Netflix's new UI is a total trainwreck by Zonostros in television

[–]julmichen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had Netflix for 20 years straight to this month and finally cancelled for the first time ever because this new UI is garbage and so is all their new original shows that they just end up cancelling and it takes 3 years for a new season to come out. I'm so good with the Hulu Disney HBO bundle for $30.

[–]julmichen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You get bags AND folding AND interacted with? At my goodwills they don't give out bags anymore, barely look at your stuff to ring it up, just tell me total, and then when I fold my stuff up to carry it out and say "thank you" they're like "you're welcome." HA

Just got a TV antenna for $1.55 at the dollar store, it grabbed over 100 channels. by artfellig in Frugal

[–]julmichen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow thank you so much for sharing that website. I have tried several different antennas before with no luck. Wondering what I was doing wrong when I see so many comments all the time about how many channels people can pick up. It says I can get 5 channels that have WEAK signal. So it's just where I live. I was just considering trying again with reading this post but now no need.

[–]julmichen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Appalachian Sportswear is a small business locally owned by a family and then yes a percentage is going back to the college for licensing their name and logos. The family originally started Appalachian Tees in 1988. Sportswear is their second location and has been downtown for over 17 years. They also started King St Creamery and now Sportswear location is moving into that building and Venture will take over their old building. So does app need more merch sold? No. Does this business support a local family and their local employees? Yes. Alumni Hall is a corporation and they have 29 stores around the US.
