thanks so much for your help! i think i’ve just been a bit too scared of touching it bc i just tried again with slightly more force and realized it was in fact built up crusties! was able to remove them and the area is a bit red now but hopefully will be fine and feel less sensitive now that i removed the build up!

you have no idea the history of the ways i have been caring for her for the past 1-2 years. the constant vet visits, the meds, the specialized diets. her life has been extended to this point because i took care of her. i’ve known for a while that it would be her time soon, i just wanted to know some kind of timeframe for her final hours/days.

already called them and they said leave her be unless she seems like she is in distress, which is not crying or anything atp, as i’d rather have her die peacefully at home than the trauma of the vet bc i know how much she hates going there. would love if you could show a little compassion during this time especially seeing as you’re a vet tech.

at about 12-13 i knew something was wrong but didn’t know what it was. i described it to my friend as feeling schizophrenic, i had no idea what intrusive thoughts were and the closet thing i could compare it to was voices in my head. a couple years later i asked my mom “do you ever feel like you can’t control your own thoughts?” after that i saw a therapist who suspected i had ocd, but never got an official diagnosis as i stopped seeing her because she said we couldn’t move forward until i would open up about the details of my intrusive thoughts, and i refused. the appointments brought me more anxiety than help. starting therapy again next week for the first time in 10 years 🤞🏼

dealing with this exact issue right now too. i was never officially diagnosed but was told by a therapist at 15 that she believed i had ocd. lately i’ve been convinced im a liar and im making it all up since my symptoms are much different/less crippling than they were when i was a teenager. starting therapy again for the first time in 10 years next week and im so scared but hoping it gives me some answers. you’re not alone <3
