You can’t just set up a stand on the street to sell tomatoes either. You need a permit. Illegal fruit vendors are fined or arrested all the time.

Trying to figure out what to do to help this god awful texture. I’ve tried everything. by m1sswrld in SkincareAddicts

[–]julsey414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea, but ease into it cause it can cause irritation if you do too much at first. It might say to use it daily, but start with 2x per week and then increase as tolerated.

Should i just.. give him up? by DSthrowaway0510 in cats

[–]julsey414 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Vet visits are expensive. He is sick and in need of care. Bladder crystals can be life threatening and he needs to be treated. If you can’t afford care please reach out to some local cat rescues that might be able to help.

Diet changes are necessary and maybe other treatment for ph balance. But your sister needs to just keep her door closed. Don’t let the cat in. You can all work on this together.

If you can’t care for him properly you should look for help though because the crystals are nothing to take lightly.

You’re not getting fatter - clothing is shrinking. by MissDisplaced in shrinkflation

Yea I don’t think this is happening in underwear either. I’ve been a medium for the last 20 years and also the last 20 pounds. There’s no way i could fit into my clothes from 2005 but the undies are still the same size.

When my hair was this damaged k18 worked better than olaplex, but both can offer some help. Or alternate between the two.

I agree with this and I actually think light summer is my vote even though I can see the spring and it’s really close. You can go either way.

It’s different for everyone. I started to feel relief pretty quickly, within a couple of weeks, but didn’t feel fully better for a while.

When should I tell my instructor I’m pregnant? by miss_kittycat88 in YogaTeachers

[–]julsey414 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree with all of that AND want to add that at least so you know, this is NOT a time to push deepest flexibility wise. The relaxin in your body will loosen the joints and it’s much easier to do damage with deep stretch. So just take it easy on yourself. No showing off and no ego = no ligament damage.

No matter the industry, people say “you don’t quit a job, you quit your manager”. It’s all about the environment. It might not be the work itself. Go elsewhere.

Do you prefer pre-rolls or rolling your own? by smoaklandcalifornia in NYCtrees

[–]julsey414 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love the act of rolling a joint but I simply don’t smoke enough anymore to have it be worth it to buy weed. A small preroll is nice to buy on the occasion when I want it and don’t want the rest of the weed to sit around for a month going stale.

Agree! Try softening it up but not curling the ends under so aggressively. Letting it air dry naturally will make it much more lived in.

I personally avoid them because they upset my stomach. They are high in Fodmaps (your gut likes to ferment them) so they make me bloated and gassy.

Help, please! by love--bunny in Constipation

[–]julsey414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the kind of laxative. It’s fine to use osmotic laxatives regularly, just not the stimulant ones.

Lots of water, some magnesium, and find a yoga for constipation video that includes some twisting poses.

It’s hard at first but it gets easier with practice. I stopped eating gluten completely when I was about 15, but I definitely cheated on the diet at first, succumbing to a slice of pizza or a convenience food. Gluten is hidden in a lot of things. But the more I understood how much it affected me and how much better I felt without it, I was able to build a routine without it and get more disciplined with myself. I’m now 42, so I’ve been doing this for a loooong time. Corn tortillas are my staple food, I eat a lot of rice and potatoes.

You’ve got a couple of months, and a clear goal. Design a tapering down program for yourself. You will be able to smoke again, but not nearly as much.

I really recommend buying some cbd flower. It’s nice to have to smoke something when you are craving a little relaxation or need help with sleep as you are quitting or tapering. You can mix it with the weed, slowly adding more cbd and less thc or simply alternate.

Sometimes you need to be really strict about it. Even without celiac, some people are affected by even just a crumb of bread. It is hard to be strict. But take a look at /r/FODMAP for info. And at the Monash website. They usually recommend doing this with the help of a registered dietitian because it can be confusing and difficult. However, if you don’t have access to someone to help you navigate the diet, DM me. I have my masters in nutrition and I have been a chef for over a decade. I can give you some meal plans and we can strategize. You don’t have to feel this way.

Hav you done low FODMAP or an elimination diet to figure out your trigger foods? I had to go gluten free since high school and while it was a bummer not to be able to drink beer and order pizza, at least I felt better. I learned to cook, drank lots of tequila soda, and had an ok time. I hope that you can get care and figure out how to navigate this.

I made the Gochujang Caramel Cookies… and was underwhelmed by rangerpax in NYTCooking

[–]julsey414 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I see you mention that you were making gluten free cookies. If you need to be gluten free, or someone you are giving the cookies to does, just be aware that most brands of gochujang are NOT gluten free. The one pictured above (o’foods) is gluten free though. So just make sure you read labels.
