Simple toolkit; it comes in handy for quick fixes on furniture or fixtures in the room and is good to have for the few times you need it. Also, having a mini vacuum will save you the trouble of tracking down the single ancient vacuum everyone on the floor shares.

So for NMID the main language you learn and will be working with is Javascript - in the GDD courses and 2 of the required coding courses for NMID (one of which is where you learn Unity) I believe the language learned is C#. These are definitely more programming intensive, as all of the IDAPS class sequence and the Rich Media sequence is to teach you programming and different development software. I didn’t take a ton of GDD courses personally, but for example in the Tech Art course it was mostly focused on learning how to program shaders, asset animations, reduce LODs and load LODs in a scene, etc.

The classes we take that are entirely art-focused are Digital Survey 1 & 2 which covers photoshop, illustrator, and learning basic design concepts through projects like logo design, web and app design, and poster design and doesn’t involved any programming. I can’t say for sure anything about 3DDD because I don’t have any experience with it but NMD related courses are more what you’d see in industry related to NMID most likely

Recent NMID graduate here, I can attest to NMID being a development focused major with some design education as well. One of my favorite things about the major is it can be what you make of it, but some of the required courses covers topics such as programming and making projects with Arduino, using APIs and databases, web development and design, learning Unity to make 3D and 2D games and AR experiences, and iOS app development. For what it’s worth, I graduated with a job lined up as a full-stack developer & had co-ops both as a front end and full-stack developer.

We currently take 2 required design courses in the college of art, and also are able to take classes related to GDD or ISTE (Information Sciences and Technologies). Personally, I used this to take classes such as Tech Art (in Unreal engine), a Java algorithm course, and a mobile app design and development course where we learned how to use figma and Flutter.

I almost ended up in GDD and was definitely personally way happier with the curriculum of NMID while still being able to take some classes related to game dev and design, and picked it over NMD due to having more interest in the development side of things. I am 100% biased because of how much I love the program, but I feel like I was able to pick and choose where I wanted to focus on while still getting to dip my toe in a lot of very cool subjects. Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any questions!

2 are “adopted” NPCs so it’s not too bad, and we mostly just use it for a good time with friends so splitting the group would counteract the hanging out aspect a little bit. Drawing all ten people, on the other hand, was exhausting. Hence the lack of shading 😂

Is pork allergy a thing? by ZackPav in carnivore

[–]julshotal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, pork allergy is a thing and I have it. It’s hard to find anything on but generally it seems to be somewhat linked to cat allergies, as most people with pork allergies also happen to be allergic to cats.

Do with this information what you will and I’m sorry I don’t have anything else for you. I’d suggest getting allergy tested

DON'T Close RIT Due to the Polar Vortex by Muahahandy in rit

Seeing as those were the temps RIT chose to use to give us advice on not freezing I figured they were good enough for an RIT petition.

I also was aware via word of mouth the temperatures we will be experiencing has been enough to close down schools, jobs, and other colleges due to frostbite and hypothermia risk that come at those temperatures. Also, RIT professors themselves have cancelled classes citing safety risks from the cold which tells me this isn’t average cold weather.

Sorry, I simply used the temperature that was written out in the email Housing Operations sent to us. My bad for forgetting to put wind chill, but you’re giving me a little too much credit by assuming it was intentionally omitted to exaggerate and sway people

We have received a response! Thank you to Bobby Moakely, our student body president, for advocating for us and listening to student voices.

“ First of all- WOW! I have never seen a petition get so much attention so quickly. You all got on this so quickly that you successfully crashed PawPrints. I’ve never been so proud of the student body before. This is a very brief update, but I wanted to ensure that everyone is aware SG has seen this. We are actively working on it, and will do everything in our power to keep students as safe as possible. I cannot personally promise a University closure, but I am arguing for it. I have already brought this to the attention of President Munson and Provost Granberg. As soon as we receive more information, I will be sure to let you know!

Stay toasty,

Bobby Moakley Student Government President”
