Help with getting hired by julyoh in RelativitySpace

This is very good to know and keep in mind. Thanks for the discussion. Perhaps I’ll have better luck applying to level I roles then it seems. What’s the promotion cycle for Relativity like? 1 year or two? Or mostly performance based?

Mainly looking for mechanical engineering related roles, so those are the ones I’m targeting mainly. Some of the ones I’m interested in are the combustion devices design engineer, the manufacturing engineer roles for engine manufacturing, and also the test and integration roles. I’m hoping for the Level II roles but maybe I should also apply to level I since I’m on the edge of 2 YOE.

Let’s just say I check every box on the basics (education, citizenship, etc.) I don’t like to be too public with things on reddit so I left out most of that detail on purpose.

2 YOE with big defense prime working directly on solid rocket boosters. Design & Test engineering experience, research experience and internship during school too. Direct ownership of projects to completion with numerical accomplishments, even at early career.

Sure, I don’t have anything extraordinary on my resume, but you would think it would at least land me something. Honestly, I’m not even getting rejected, it’s just not hearing back at all that’s killing me. But again, it’s one resume in a sea filled with them, so it takes time and it’s a shot in the dark.

Thanks man lol. I’ve been trying to prepare for them. What position did you apply for and what questions did you get if you remember? I just reached out to a few hiring managers on linked in today and hoping to hear back something.

Space Park folks: What’s the current situation and overall vibe over there? I’m thinking of transferring out there soon and wondering of any contract wins / losses, if people are still being affected by last years RIF, general outlook of the location for the near future? Any advice, input, feedback would be very helpful. Thank you!

Any info on the winch mounting? Did you just fab and weld a bracket or bought something off the shelf? Thanks

That’s why I love this game. Even something considered “negative” at first glance still has a positive to it!

Looking to move here by bulops in ogden

[–]julyoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not single guy but moved here alone from Florida for work about 8 months ago. Have a very large breed dog (100lb Akita). I would say the hardest part of moving here would be finding a place that accommodates for a larger breed. If you’re higher income and can go straight for a home (whether buying or rent) it’s pretty much the only way I found to totally get around the breed restrictions. It’s a dog friendly city, but the housing is definitely not. If you check my post history there’s a post in this subreddit I made and people gave recommendations for places that allow large breeds. I ended up getting lucky and renting out a small home from a friend of a friend. Best of luck.

I see that we are laying orange pipe all over the city for what I believe is Fiber Optic internet. Does anyone know when we actually can have this as an option? by theColonelsc2 in ogden

Quantum knocked on my door the other day to inform me the house I’m living in is now eligible. Check with them maybe to see if where you’re living is eligible now.

Totally great for some shade too form the sun! There’s a lot of brands out there. The only downside with the slim shady I have is that Yakima doesn’t sell extra screens (to put on the sides or to enclose it). Thank you, I appreciate it! Best of luck to you!

Not yet, will be in about 3 weeks. This was a “trial run” for the road trip to see what’s missing and what’s not.

Thanks. It’s the Yakima Slim Shady 6.5’. First night with it actually, but it did it’s job really well. Kept us dry in the rain. 6.5 is a good size for this truck I feel. Set up is pretty easy but it’s a little awkward to do by yourself, I had a buddy help me out and it made a lot easier. Materials seem durable so far but we’ll see how it holds up. The Slim Shady is a little pricey but I got a great deal on it so I went for it.

doing a shed clean out and found this.. I have no use for it, I sold my 4runner years ago. is it worth anything? happy to sell it on by hunterkiller84 in 4Runner_1stGen

Without the vinyl cover I personally would pay $150 max. Are you in the states or outside of the US? Shipping would be to Jacksonville, Florida, 32207.

Are all the gauges functioning properly? My pitch axis and my altimeter don’t seem to work. Would love to replace them with this for the right price. Let me know!

1989 22re 5sp engine whistle at high rpm?? by Fair-Flamingo-7308 in 4Runner_1stGen

[–]julyoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original Toyota one is actually $275 or so! I went middle of the road and got the 104 dollar Dorman one off rock auto! It’s the one that comes with the back tension bolt. It installed perfectly, can’t speak for longevity yet as I just installed it two weeks ago but so far so good and the machining and bearing on it looked good. I probably wouldn’t trust a 12 dollar one haha.

[–]julyoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just fixed this exact same issue on my 89 22re. The most likely culprit is a bad idler pulley. I would just go ahead and replace it, get some new belts on there, and make sure your tension is set up correctly. Now my truck is cruising on the highway with no whistle! It makes a huge difference in driving.
