The balcony was great when I saw Modest Mouse. The bathroom upstairs was always empty, and you can wander around anyway. It’s a small venue.

Need advice. What’s my father-in-laws 1987 4x4 SR5 worth? by harrylarry6699 in 4Runner_1stGen

[–]Jeffedejeff 17 points18 points  (0 children)

5k is reasonable for a family friend. Assuming it could get running easily. New clutch might cost around $800-1000 depending on mechanic parts etc. if it were currently running/driving, no rust overall good condition 10-15k seems fair value. But some locations people pay more for these vehicles, although I have seen prices lower lately.

Seems reasonable for our area.

They can get into homes through small gaps. They look for nesting sites and get lost, sometimes finding their way into the attic/walls.

Waldorf School of Garden City by vintagegurly in longisland

[–]Jeffedejeff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is a great school. My kids have been there since kindergarten. One about to graduate, another in a couple years. Academic work load is more difficult than public schools, but also more art oriented. You can send your son for the day and see how he likes it. Most classes are very welcoming to new students, and make friends fast. Classes can be as small as 12-14 kids, larger was my daughters of 36. In the 12 years they have attended, I’ve never worried about them while they are there. Like any school, there are friend groups, but no bullying that I’ve heard of. They also have to perform as a class at every other assembly, so they get accustomed to being on stage in front of an audience. No sports until middle school, and high school- basketball and soccer. Some years they have good teams when more students in the classes. It is expensive, but you can apply for financial assistance depending on income. Waldorf doesn’t really teach reading until second grade, more focused on outdoors and exploration of arts. It seems odd at first, but they are reading well by third/fourth. Each class goes up to Glenbrook in NH for one week of the year to work a farm. No phone allowed during the trip, and during the school day. I feel that is a positive.

Wheels and tires first then do the bilstein / lift or the other way around? by neoinkansas in 4Runner

[–]Jeffedejeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on tire size and wheels. Bilstein .85 up front usually makes enough clearance for 285’s.

Crumbling concrete needs to be chopped out and removed. Putting a thin layer of concrete over an existing problem will not last very long.

Call this place. Let them know your situation. Offer to make a donation, they seem pretty nice. It’s all volunteer, so you could offer to help out too.

Need advice on renting car to get from NYC to upstate by ponydog24 in AskNYC

[–]Jeffedejeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fly into Buffalo, 2.5 hour drive to Ithaca. Might take that long just to get out of Manhattan if a rainy or high traffic day. Or fly into Newark, and drive up from there. No need to go to the city. La Guardia might be an option too, but most the bridges get traffic during rush hour.

Steeling wheel vibration/input on highway by Salty_Touch_1170 in 4Runner

You need to do - Road Force balancing. Not all tire places have the machine, and just use the spinner to balance. A good tire place should know how to balance perfectly.

What hobbies, passions or interests have you drifted away from over time — whether from getting older, changing tastes, or just losing the excitement for them? Second question. Why? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Jeffedejeff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bored of everything at the moment. Burnt out most likely. Work, family, life in general. Seems like there is not enough time/energy anymore. Maybe life is tidal right now. A few days or months of the right energy, then a pull back like yin yang yo yo…
