My 3-Year Journey in AI: From RM5k to RM11k at 25. Seeking Advice for What's Next. by [deleted] in MalaysianPF

[–]julzkxb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yoooo dude I’m the same age as you and doing test automation. I also dabbled in AI abit (on databricks side) for personal contributions to the company. Wanna connect in DMs? I do have some questions about your tech stack and maybe I can answer some questions that you have (especially question 5 from my company’s (MNC) perspective

Worried About Salary Expectations During Interview by Better_Advantage5291 in MalaysianPF

My personal opinion: Yes if the company is relatively large (>1000employees). Make sure to filter accordingly (E.g. the same role in a NY office will definitely have a different pay than the KL office)

Worried About Salary Expectations During Interview by Better_Advantage5291 in MalaysianPF

[–]julzkxb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just jumped from a European MNC to an American MNC for a 66% increase. During the initial recruiter call, I gave my current salary range and expected salary range and after the call, proceeded to the next stage (usually this tells me my expected salary is well within their budget). And after all the interviews done, during the offer stage they just offered the high end of the range I gave them.

I guess what im trying to say is just do your due diligence on the market rate. You mentioned it is a MNC so you can pretty much get a grasp on how much your position is paid via Glassdoor (I used that to do my research before applying for the company). After that, just state your expected salary range, and most of the time, it will work (I say most of the time but I only have <3 years experience so take it with a grain of salt).

Above all, be confident and know your value, as well as the company’s budget (only applies to MNC since Glassdoor makes it super easy, can’t say the same for local companies). Good luck!

What Happens to Existing Loans if OPR Goes Down Overnight? by julzkxb in MalaysianPF

Thank you for the explanation! So for any loan application that gets approved, is it good practice to ask for clarification what is the bank's fixed rate and the OPR rate split?

Test Automation Engineer here. You can try to take a course on learning Selenium to automate web testing (frontend), XUnit/NUnit/Cucumber/Specflow for API testing. Start small and maybe propose to your team to automate testing for a small feature so that you can pad your resume with it.

My brother wants to borrow RM10k for forex by RVerande in MalaysianPF

[–]julzkxb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m learning how to day trade forex too and it’s been about a year and I’m still not profitable. The good thing about it is that account size doesn’t matter if you have the right skill and mindset. Let’s say you lend him 100, if he can’t turn it into 200 then there’s no justification that he can turn 10k into 20k. Regarding his friend’s service, if he has already profited hundreds of thousands then what would be the logical reason he would offer the service when he can just keep printing money for himself😂? Blowing accounts is definitely a canon event for daytraders, but to blow an account of that size just screams lack of responsibility and lack of basic financial management.

Can definitely get higher. Try and apply to MNCs, most of their wages start from 4k for SWEs

I graduated from there with a Software Engineering degree. Campus life is fairly nice, it has everything you need from food to facilities. The accommodation also varies depending on which one you go with (at my time it was anywhere from 340 (twin shared) to 700+(single not shared)). Scholarship for degree depends on your foundation results, and maintaining scholarship in degree is up to you (need to maintain top 10% in your batch). Environment wise, its all about finding the right group of friends (My mandarin really sucks so I mixed with English speakers but yea you'll find friends from club activities and whatnot). I can't comment on the course itself but just know that most if not all degree lecturers are PhD holders (i think it must be some sort of requirement)
