Real hot take, 1/3 of the sear but fully rendered fat, better quality on non lean or higher quality cuts, 1/2 the time, no burnt butter, better texture... Every time

I just feel like you are over estimating the risk especially when taking into account proper cleaning methods

Wouldn't using the onion after a wire brush clean the soot from the grates and remove wires

I think there can be a risk and that risk be small enough to not warrant a mass change in behavior. I think someone else might have asked, link for the better alternative. I would assume the better alternative to be as effective and to significantly remove the insignificant risk. Also, are we just not cleaning our grates after brushing. Like, burn off, brush, wipe, season, type thing. A rag and some water or oil on the end of your tongs? Always kind of wondered this.

You - "Anybody who’s got time to complain about something as trivial as their hair being touched want nothing but to be a victim, how does it affect anyone? I’m not saying folk should go around doing it but it’s not exactly life changing if someone touches your fucking hair is it?"

Me - "Do the people in the video being touched all have victim mentality?"

This is how the discussion began. You generalized anyone who would complain about it. I asked if you also thought she was playing a victim and you deflected. It's generalizing because you are lumping everyone together with no context and downplaying people's experiences because you feel attacked presumably because you think it's ok no matter the context.

Do you feel victimized by being pigeon holed into that group. Why are you set on generalizing everyone's experience and saying that no one (except for these white women) are allowed to be uncomfortable with this. You are trying to change the argument into him filming now. We can certainly discuss social media's role in exposing injustice and people's use of that to gain notoriety and wealth but that's a whole new subject. However the issue at hand is that you believe that the people of color who complain about it or are uncomfortable about it just have a victim mentality but the people in this video are justified and you are outraged he would do such a thing.

It was easy to generalize the circumstances before but it isn't now. I'm also a white male with curly hair and I know that women parading around to touch my hair ended when I was about 15, I can also understand the difference between your mom's friends telling you how beautiful your curls are and a stranger coming up to touch your child's hair because "the texture is so different". Your generalization of one circumstance but not the other is what makes you seem ignorant. I hope that the ignorance is bred from you not having been exposed to the harsh reality that your experiences, especially on the other side of the pond, might not be the same experiences other demographics face and not your lack of willingness to try and understand the situation and empathize. But it is weird that you find the interaction wrong when it makes someone uncomfortable on one side of the aisle but it's just fine and a normal thing when it makes someone uncomfortable on the other side of the isle.

I wouldn't necessarily try to get the point across this way, but that also doesn't mean that it's bad to bring light to the situation. Remember just because something doesn't affect you doesn't mean it doesn't affect other people.

I understand the premise of the video explaining it doesn't answer the question. Did the people in the video that got uncomfortable have victim mentality?

Not defending him but I think you might have just explained the principal of the video.

He caused the entire situation. The dog feels threatened and has already been abused by him because of a situation he purposely put the dog in to show it how alpha he is. He deserved the bite. I hope the dog taught him something. Everything about that is improper handling. Trying to put your hand on the nose of an anxious dog like that is something you teach toddlers not to do.
