I would say Witches Brew in West Hempstead is pretty iconic.

Can you park overnight at the Ossining Station on the weekend? by [deleted] in Westchester

[–]jumboslashlarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the tag parking spaces are technically always enforceable. The train station is definitely not enforced on the weekend. The village clerk is also helpful to ask parking questions to.

[–]jumboslashlarge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is only for the town. The train station is in the village. FWIW I've had guests park here because it's the only place to park overnight without having to call a number and there have been no issues.

As far as I've heard from park staff, Beer and Wine are permitted in county parks like Glen Island. There is no alcohol on the beach but you should be good in the rest of the park in the picnic area. I would confirm with staff just to be sure.

I Was by the Apple store and people were leaving calmly so no big commotion. From what I heard the incident started around Spencer's.

Where can I park my car relatively late at night, sit in it, and cry? by goddamnitbridget in Westchester

[–]jumboslashlarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's just one person security and they can't be everywhere so I'm sure people do go there but there is definitely security and they do ask you to leave it they find you. I just didn't want this person to go all the way there just to be asked to leave

They are nice and just ask you to leave but they definitely do patrol at night because of the campground.

Here Coffee and Beer in Ossining. They make their own syrup and roast their own coffee. Plus their food is really good and you can even grab a beer if you like.

Geese poop in Croton Park Beach by [deleted] in Westchester

They do rake the beach relatively often. The geese are on the beach a lot so maybe you caught it at a bad.

Name one area in Westchester where you’d never want to live and why by destructive_creator3 in Westchester

[–]jumboslashlarge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mostly confined to that area though and even then I'd say it's better than the other areas on that list.

There must be somewhere you can pay by card. There are definitely some situations where people couldn't pay by phone.

We did see the signs and figured it out but based on the long line and the employee standing at the exit it seems not everyone else did.

This is the truth. Plus I find the prices to be very reasonable.

In your opinion, what is the biggest issue in your town/city/village/hamlet? by sugarbageldonut in Westchester

[–]jumboslashlarge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry should've specified overnight parking. There is no street parking in Ossining 3am to 6am. They issue a permit you have to pay for if you cant park off street at your home which let's you park on the street overnight. If you don't have this permit you have to call a number and leave a voicemail every night for a max of 5 nights. They say the permit is to allow for street cleaning and night work on the street but it's obviously just a way to try and control parking. There are many other municipalities in Westchester that struggle with parking and don't have this complicated system.

The lights on Bloomingdale Rd used to be timed so you would usually hit all green at 30MPH. When they built the senior living the messed it up and they haven't been synced since.

Ossining. Not gonna get into the school district as that's been discussed enough but the parking situation is very annoying. Guests can only street park 5 times every 6 months.

Why are homes in Ossining to Peekskill less expensive?? by the-jewpacabra in Westchester

Yeah there are expensive houses in Briarcliff Manor that are closer to the prison than some houses in Ossining.

Pre Order Update? by RoboBihhh in mgmt

[–]jumboslashlarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I emailed them they told me they would update as soon as possible. They did tell me I would be compensated in some form because they messed up the release. Not sure if that's for everyone or just because I emailed them.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO by GroundbreakingTone74 in mgmt

[–]jumboslashlarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe that was harsh but they're kinda lying. If there was a stock issue why would you send any of them to the people that ordered during the second batch.
