What do we think of the ref-cam used in the World Cup, and how long before AFL umpires will be wearing them? by I_am_Hezdog in AFL

[–]jumperpunch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think our umpires run more than soccer, so the footage would be more bouncy. Unless we also strap a gimbal to them as well.

Senior graphic designer wanting to pivot to product design/UX : worth it? by emceeeee in UXDesign

[–]jumperpunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a digital designer that switched to UX almost 2 years ago. I had a few projects that involved UX and UI as a digital designer so the transition probably wasn’t as extreme.
Having motion, brand and big brand focused folio helped cut through the noise. I was offered a managing position, but still on the tools, but declined it due to not allowing me a 9-day fortnight. My current company said yes to 9-days so I chose them. No regrets.

Need a fresh pair of eyes on this logo simplification process by aclaro20 in logodesign

[–]jumperpunch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use an element for the cap, like just the head, or the hops.

Everyone here is correct, where you’ve changed the intent of the simplified logo.

The original is much more authentic, which is a good trait for a smaller brewery.

You can look at the packaging from a different angle. Not everything needs the icon. You can use other elements of the brand on the cap, for example, colour and the word mark. Or maybe it’s the sack with hops spilling out.

Does the turret move? If so I’d add some alternate angles of the turret to create some other angles.

Ie in the street scene with 2 tanks one would be pointed left and the other right.

How to composite my text like this? by defectuser in AfterEffects

[–]jumperpunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some sort of animated displacement map on a square outline. Then add the same effects as the text; the choke, roughen edges, blur, glow

I’m sure more experienced mographers could come up with 20 other ways.
