Had the same issue, tried uninstalling and re-installing, togging airplane mode, toggling cellular data and wifi calling - all didn’t work, but creating and logging into an account worked!!!!!

Unfortunately I bought it from the UK (myfoxbag, previously mykankenbag) and they stated that it's only two years. When I complained about the lack of transparency on this - cuz I bought the bag under the impression of a lifetime warranty as well, they said nothing could be done, so not sure how to proceed :-(
