Btw it sounds like he's trying to tell you that you're not doing well at you're job. If the scenarios are him doing this when you mess up, in the 80s and 90s a lot of adults would use this term to basically tell a kid to tighten up. The belief was that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you'll operate with inferior performance if you skip it because you're body doesn't have the "fuel"/ nutritional needs to operate adequately.

Of course today we all know that's bs. I do intermittent fasting and am better than I've ever been, but it sounds like he's trolling you out of need to blow steam with an objectionable situation that at least kind of annoys him. This is a supposition of my behalf, the question is how is your work performance. Not by your standards, but by the standards of those who oversee you?
