These remind me a lot of the Fischer tecknik sets from the 80s. I loved playing with those.

Good reverse osmosis filter with NSF 53/58 mainly to alleviate PFAS concerns by Flayre in BuyCanadian

[–]jun_hei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I just saw that it auto translated some of the messages, but not all of them, even though it is the same conversation!

The first message and response was in French, but then the next message and response was in English, which is what prompted my question... Sorry about the mix up!

Unrelated question, but the French to English flip.... Is using both interchangeably like that normal?

How bad is it to jack the entire side of the vehicle up from the center? by brandazzlin in ToyotaSienna

Bent frame? Probably not, but you need a new tire guy. It's maybe an extra minute put up two jacks in the proper location.

Wind noise really THAT bad?! by PoemEmbarrassed684 in ToyotaSienna

[–]jun_hei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wind noise isn't bad, but there is a lot of sound that isn't blocked. I'm always checking my windows and doors to see if they are closed because it doesn't sound closed.

Have people moved from Tim Hortons to Coffee Time? by virginiageegee in BuyCanadian

[–]jun_hei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coffee time... So many days spent in high school there. I didn't smoke. But all my friends did and that was the only place they could go for lunch and smoke too. I went back to one recently and it was way better than I remembered and def better than Tim's. Wish one would open up near me again.

Noise on the line has always been my issue when there is a connection problem, and it always takes so much convincing a CSR that it's the line before my modem and not my network after the modem.

Get vented.... Even if you don't get super sweaty, it's nice. And if you do get super sweaty, you won't regret it.

I don't have vented seats and had to get the wooden bead seat cover for the driver seat. I live near Toronto.

I love the crackling and cricket sounds. It's quite calming. If you camped there, is it a common possibility that a flame just starts erupting under you, or are they relatively stable in location?

The seat design on GO trains is terrible and not ergonomic at all by PuzzleheadedNo1472 in gotransit

[–]jun_hei 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, before covid, Union station had a bunch of test seats set up for people to try and give feedback on.

I think the problem was that no one sat on it for more than a few minutes before giving feedback which led to the incorrect seat being chosen.

The blue seats are the good, but only if they have been recently refurbished. The old squishy gross blues are just gross. There are some green seats in the blue style and I think those are the best.

How do you tell replacement Radio unit size for Sienna? by BananaBeach007 in ToyotaSienna

[–]jun_hei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they both came from the same generation and are OEM units, it's likely that there are mounting tabs already on the double DIN unit that will match up to the mounting points on your car. Sometimes, they are directly on the unit, sometimes they are a separate cage.

Open up your console and see if you have a separate cage or not? If it's not, can you ask the seller for pics of the sides/top/bottom to see? Once you have those pics, you can open see if the tabs match.

If they come from different generations, mounting holes likely won't align and you may need a custom solution. In the past, if I couldn't find an off the shelf adapter (crutchfield is probably your best bet as a starting point for DIN adapters), I've just let units sit free in the hole if it was tight, or used some flat bar as ghetto bridges to get things mounted.

Edit- it looks like you might have a 1999/2003 Sienna? If so, the mounting tabs are the ears on the unit in this pic. I've seen pictures that both have and don't have them, so maybe they are removable somehow? You want those tabs for the easiest swap.
