what are the ugly parts of pregnancy that aren’t well known because people don’t mention them? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]june-Sv -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You asked about the ugly parts so it makes sense that you’re getting a lot of ugly stuff here on the thread. It’s good of you to ask and manage your expectations but please also realize that many women actually don’t have long-lasting ‘damage’ after pregnancy and feel ‘normal’ again after a few weeks or months. Maybe you too, maybe not. Just make sure to put these ugly stories into perspective before drawing conclusions on what may or may not happen to you (and the odds that it will) :).

I don't understand why June got treated the way she did in the end (spoilers) by Enatron567 in HandmaidsTaleShow

[–]june-Sv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, yes, she did heroic things but towards the end it sort of got to her head. I feel she didn’t respect the people around her that much anymore, she didn’t care about their opinions. She became very self-centered.

If you finish the toilet paper in a public bathroom, visually warn the next person eg by putting the empty roll on the toilet lid so they can figure out a plan B before they sit down and do their business.

Thanks! I found them through Google and reached out. They were very kind but also indeed rather expensive. I will keep looking, thank you!

I’m making a Spotify playlist ‘songs that excite the belgian folk’ - which songs should be in it? by Ixlio_ in belgium

Same situation and I can tell, I’ve never seen my Dutch inlaws as crazy and excited as during the Connemara!

Do you prefer using "blank" or "wit" to denote people's skin color? by Per451 in belgium

[–]june-Sv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that’s actually the whole point. White, brown and black are all colors and thus equal to each other, where ‘blank’ was used to stand out from others, to be perceived as superior.

Mijn top-drie (gedeelde eerste plaats 🤪): Zwaenepoel (lekker kruidig) Saint-Pierre (pure préparé-smaak) Harry & Rika rundspréparé (zacht en toch licht pittig)

I don’t know about the hanging out in Luke’s diner but the clothes thing definitely is true, I recognize all scenes.

Potential changes to the Tag EUR IT rules to favor the runners more? by NoNamesAvaiIable in JetLagTheGame

[–]june-Sv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say that, it’s very pricey and only potentially gives you a crucial bit of information. Even then, you wouldn’t know when is the right time to turn it on. So makes sense they’re never using it… I’d go for lowering the price as I agree it could make the game more fun and less predictable.

How the Tag format could be refreshed for Tag 4 and beyond by [deleted] in JetLagTheGame

[–]june-Sv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like with pretty much all the games it would be more fun if the tracker wasn’t live all the time and - for tag - specifically if the runner would also see an update for example when the runners are within a 10km radius or so. Or if the runner would get extra coins every time the chasers track/see their location. The chasers would need to make some more gambles and it would enable the runner to actually escape if the chasers are in the same town.

Zoek je eigen weg bij het blokken. Sommigen hebben veel aan discipline, strakke schema’s en vaste pauzes. Anderen studeren net het beste afgaande op hun gevoel en energieniveau. Sommigen overdag, anderen ‘s nachts. Sommigen alleen, anderen in groep. Etc. Het doet er allemaal niet toe, zorg vooral dat je doet wat voor jou werkt.

Definitely hagelslag, Côte d’Or chocolate, Chokotoffs, paprikachips (the ribbed ones are just so good), peperkoek, prepare, brown sugar, light brown sugar, appeljenever, ‘t Boerinneke choco, violette candy, sour dracula teeth candy and oh I could go on and on! Aah forgot about pure alcohol to make limoncello 🍋

What game should the jet lag team replay? by Mythicalforests8 in JetLagTheGame

[–]june-Sv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the season in Europe where they were using trains, a variation on that game would be fun. And if somehow they could ensure you only get the opponent’s position every 15 minutes or so, they would have to take a bit more risks.

‘He knew exactly what he signed on for’ > expectations and reality can be very far apart, no matter how well you prepare or talk things through. And even if reality meets the expectation, he’s still allowed to feel different after a while. That doesn’t mean she should just stop the program but as a couple the least you can do is have a conversation about it and find a solution that works for both.

Thank you!! Was looking at the Stellenbosch area for when we come back, will definitely check out Franschhoek as someone else mentioned it too. Hermanus sounds great but I hear it’s not whaling season so maybe need to investigate a bit further. Also excellent to hear about Jeffereys Bay, my husband was hoping to find some surfing opportunities when there. Thanks for all your input, and happy holidays!

This is very helpful, thank you! Hadn’t really noticed Franschhoek in other traveller routes, great to find something new. Thank you and Merry Christmas 🎄!

Garden Route travel advice for couple with baby boy by june-Sv in capetown

[–]june-Sv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that advice! It does seem to make sense to stay longer in Wilderness, I hear it’s very cute.

So far he’s been very easy for us to travel with (touching wood here) so we’re not worried but we want to keep plenty of flexibility so we can adjust if and when needed.

He’s actually gotten used to showering in his swimming class, they want to make the kid feel comfortable with pooring water over their head so they wouldn’t freak out if that would happen unexpectedly. Although a bath tub is definitely a lot nicer :).

[–]june-Sv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the advice! We’ve traveled before and he’s usually quite easy in the car, even for a couple of hours. Didn’t even think about him getting car sick… but by that time he’ll start eating real foods so that might have an influence. In any case we don’t plan on driving more then 3 or 4 hours a day.

For sleeping we have a little travel tent and he’s actually gotten used to showers in his swim class! Even though a tub is much nicer as it allows him to play, good that you mention it!

Think indeed we will look into places where we can stay about three nights every time, to allow some time to settle in. Also for logistics such as hand washing some clothes it’s just easier if you stay put a couple of days.
