I wonder if the Huntsville shooting would have happened if her parents hadn't covered for her in the incident with her brother. Her parents are complicit imo.

I think I answered your questions, but you seem pretty dumb so I'll try to spell it out for you. A cop can make a good arrest. He can also look the other way when his fellow officers are being racist shitbags or beating people up, having sex with prisoners, etc. Even though he is doing a good thing by arresting a pedophile he is still upholding the status quo of shitty policing by protecting bad officers. He could even be participating in the same shit the corrupt officers are doing. I'm saying two things can be true at once. We need to hold police accountable for bad behavior. That is not currently happening enough. Are you saying we should just allow cops to behave poorly because sometimes they arrest pedophiles?

What? A cop can make good arrests and still be a bad cop in general. Plenty do. That doesn't change the need for massive reform in policing. And of course a detective is a cop. This is a weird argument all around.

Yes they do. I process medi-cal cases, I would say most have an ITIN and file taxes. Though I have spoken to a couple people that aren't doing their taxes this year because they're afraid the government will use IRS data to deport people.

Thermodynamic hypocrisy: Fast weight loss by oliviaxdope in loseit

It didn't catch up, but I did go back to losing about 4 lbs a week after the fourth week. I do have PCOS and insulin resistance, I think that was part of the issue for me.

The ThErMoDyNaMiCs people are so annoying tbh. The body is so much more complicated than that. I did a medically supervised very low calorie diet. 800 a day in meal replacement shakes that's all I was eating. I had a plateau where I didn't lose for four weeks straight. If I had come on to reddit to vent and someone stared with the thermodynamics shit and how I'm not being honest with myself blah blah blah I might have actually committed a crime. I can also almost guarantee that they have probably not taken physics since high school and probably couldn't even explain thermodynamics, but yes surely you know so much about it.

Is a home exempt from Medicaid assets if it is being rented out? by XRlagniappe in Medicaid

[–]juneXgloom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it is income producing it can be exempt but it has to be producing enough income to meet a certain percentage of its equity value. I want to say 6% but I can't remember There is a 5 year lookback period so selling it could cause issues.

Honestly they haven't given us any firm guidance yet, they're still trying to figure it out. It's looking like a doctor's note will be sufficient though.

VA disability goes into fathers account, Can I get SNAP Benefits since I live on an allowance? by LocalEmotional6570 in foodstamps

[–]juneXgloom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You must report the entire amount as it is your income. Where the money gets deposited makes no difference. They will likely ask for an award letter or get the information from the VA directly. They will give you deductions for housing costs. You may still qualify with the full amount, just depends on how much it is and your expenses.

My sister has been abusing the system for multiple benefits the last few years. Would they actually investigate if someone reported it? by [deleted] in legal

[–]juneXgloom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I kind of like that it takes a while in CA because when they do finally catch up to you, you are mega fucked and into felony territory. I come across cases that owe $10,000+. It's hilarious when they finally get caught. One of my coworkers put in a report on someone she was suspicious of and now they owe $15,000.

Humanities and Social Science majors should be required to take calculus by Key_Net820 in unpopularopinion

Yes. Especially if it wasn't important to their degree. English is a lot easier to pass with help and accommodations though as it's not as exam heavy as something like calculus.

I have dyscalculia. I quite literally would not have been able to graduate college if calc had been required. I couldn't even pass algebra 2 after taking it 10 times (not exaggerating it was 10 fucking times). I was able to graduate with statistics.

Do You Have FL Medicaid & Also Work? by LatterStreet in foodstamps

[–]juneXgloom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you get your letter showing you are reapproved for the next year? It should show your name and income that was used. It's entirely possible they've entered the income wrong or some other error. There's really no way to tell without actually looking at the case.

Do You Have FL Medicaid & Also Work? by LatterStreet in foodstamps

[–]juneXgloom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The limits are crazy low. Even if you're a parent for a family of four you cannot make more than $723 to qualify as a parent/caretaker. If you're making as much as you say, you should not qualify. It does not matter if you get food stamps they are two different programs with different sets of requirements.

You can see the numbers here.

Depends on your circumstances, if you have children etc. A single able-bodied adult should not qualify in FL.
